to get Carlos Mencia off of comedy central. Does it usually take shows this long to get canceled? Am i just getting impatient? I cant stand that racist piece of shit polluting comedy central any longer. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I bet he thanks God Chapell disapered. I mean I can't think of any other reason for Comedy Central to keep his show going.
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrz I just wanted to add some more Rs in there... and a Z, I think the Z needs some more love.
since when has comedy central had anything good besides south park and dave chappele on? or has that much changed since starchoice made it hard to steal their signals
I disbelieve that he's racist. I think he hates everybody. He makes fun of everyone equally (even his own race). He's trying to bridge the racial gap through comedy. It's noticable in his earlier stand up. I like Mencia's comedic style, although I do agree that there's only so much one can handle of his show.
have you SEEN mencias show? His joke delivery is incredibley poor. I mean, what is with that thing where he goes "DUH DUH DUHHHH" and sounds like a complete retard? Is that funny? I will tell you one thing, he is lucky to have every unintelligent mexican american as his fan base. At that rate, his show will last forever. and as for "bridging the ratial gap with comedy", all he says is things people dont want to hear. He doesnt speak his mind in a good way. If he said some of the things he says in the safety of his studio in the real world, he would get punched in the head.
Of course I've seen his show and much of his early stand up. People don't want to hear what he says because (most of it) is true! Most people can't handle the truth. Why should he have to be nice about it??? Making fun of people isn't nice to begin with. People need to hear less sugarcoated crap and need to come to sad reality they are trying to hide from. Mencia is only causing negativity because people are on the defense. They are defensive because the truth hurts...
No, if ever there was a way to confront racism in this fashion, Mencia is going about it in the wrong way. Aside from telling cliche, worn out tipicle race jokes, he does it in a offending manner. One show he started out with a whole segment about how fat his wife was, and continued to talk about how he thinks he "looks fat in everything". Is that going to make the overweight issue better? No, he stood up there for about 5 minutes looking like a complete jackass. Chappelle did a much better job of uniting races in his sketches (mainly because they were at least clever)
*rolls eyes* So what's Mencia to do if his wife asks if she's fat? "oh, no honey. You're not fat at all." or "You could stand to work out and tone up."? Not in my opinion. People need something that stands apart from the norm. And how do you think racial jokes and slanders came about to begin with? Maybe because the people that do them did it to the point of ridiculousness, hence creating stereotypes. The real world is harsh. People need to quit being such pussies and deal with it. Damn, if mere comedy causes this much drama, I'd hate to see the reaction of 'in your face' type shit. (funny episode you mentioned, by the way)
I think its just a comedy special that repeats itself. he is not such a special comedian that he needs a whole series. mencia should have one or two half hour specials and thats it. give the recuring series to george carlin!
its his persona. no one wants to here these racial jokes from such a nobody comedian. starting off as a complete jackass isnt the greatest way to make yourself known.
Well, if you're talking personas, you pretty much have to be an asshole, jackass, smartass...any kind of ass....to get things through to people. Watch some of his earlier comedy (about 1-2 years before Mencia show). He was a bit more humble then. I do agree that he has gotten much less humble and more like an asshole. That's probably one of the reasons we disagree, because my introduction of him was humbleness, and your introduction is asshole.
i saw his special on comedy central. i kind of liked him; he reminded a bit of louis black. he tries to be too political, when really i suspect he knows very little about anything.
meh, I laugh... ya dont really need to have a hissy fit about it, if its on dont watch it, thats what i do...but i dont care, I watch it...
