I have started making a series of wire wrap pieces that each focus on a specific color. I did green first and just the other day finished red. I will probably be making blue or yellow next. Each has or will have stones only of their particular color. Here are the ones I've finished check out my other pieces if you have a minute nattywraps wire wrap crystal jewelry Peace, Isaac
just wanted to say that you do amazing work. very unique, i've never seen anything quite like it... keep it up
i have a friend that does things like you do... he makes them and puts them on necklaces, and other things... i'm gunna try and take some pictures of his stuff, it's really amazing, maybe you guys can bounce ideas off each other... i love the red one, that is so beautiful. how long did it take you to do? it looks like it would be REALLY tedious!
Amazing work. I really like that you are doing the color studies...something about having multiple stones of the same color in one piece really appeals to me. Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to develop your skills and technique? Its really amazing...Ive never seen anything like it.
to field a few questions... the pieces take around 7-8 hours to make. some pieces are more complex and take longer, some are faster going. these particular pieces were about 8 hours each. the more stones, the more work and these are packed full of tricky to wrap stones. I've been doing this for just under a year. I've been making art almost my entire life though. Sculpture, complex hemp weaving/braiding, painting, pastels, pencil sketching, inking, graphic design, print design, website design, etc... The bug bit me hard. Thanks everyone for your compliments. I'll be sure to share the rest of the spectrum with you soon... Here's a really nice piece I made last week. It's not really part of the color series but man is it pretty
I do both. It just depends on how specific I want to be about the design. If I have a very clear idea of what kinds of shapes or layouts I want to put in a piece I will often sketch out a rough design for it and try to work from that to keep on track. I have never come out with a piece that fully follows a sketch though. Most of the time I am probably just working on the fly and maybe maintaining a general idea of where I want things to go. Usually I work a few steps ahead in my mind if that makes sense. peace, Isaac
wow... the whole process is very interesting... i love the last one you posted, the pinkish one... so intricate, and pretty!
