    Hi,
I was dx'd with this a few years back. I am not sure if I believe that I have it or not. There is a really bad stigma that follows this diagnosis.
Anyway, I am a member of a health forum that specifically deals with this BUT all the people on there are really whiny and DON'T want to take responsibility. Many many people will not admit that their own lifestyles could be attributing to their illness nor do people want to find real answers.
Almost everyone on there just wants to take prescriptions drugs and are not interested in natural or nutritional healing.
Anyway my point is that I am looking for anyone who also has bizarre and weird health issues that are mostly related to "fibro" or chronic fatigue. I also want to talk to anyone who is interested in natural and nutritional healing.
I feel like I am so alone on that other forum. People actually are rude when you try to talk about eating right or taking supplements. Weird!
It just really makes me wonder how many prescription drugs CAUSE a lot of symptoms.
Oh and just so you know I am not ALL againsts prescription medicine or the medical community. Sometimes I just think that the doctors don't know how or what to treat and so they just hand out meds.
Thanks in advance for reading and responding!

    Howdy.

both my sis and mother have been diagnosed with Fibromialgia years ago. I think part of the reason people may be touchy or down right agressive/defensive about lifestyle sollutions, is that many people asume that people with Fibro are either lazy, or that the illness is their own doing. It';s also a pain because you don;t "look sick"

That said my sister has vastly improved here energyu level and functionality by changing her diet, and increasing her exercise levels. if you want to discuss furthur, I'm around.

my mother has it very badly. she's currently in India for six weeks undergoing a highly intensive holistic eastern Aruveda treatment.

with the aid of acupuncture, aruveda diet, oil massage, etc, she is finally off of the pills. most people with this disease take half a dozen or more drugs which just ultimately make you much worse. my mother, for example, has a severely compromised system and just taking xanex to help her sleep completely fucked with her mind/body.

the only treatment for this exists in the EAST. western doctors have no sympathy for anything that cannot be seen.

    peace.

while I dont have fibro I have endometriosis, while my doctor wants to pump me up with stong hormones/testosterone(sp) and the pain meds.. The pain meds help when i am in server pain but that is it, and it doesnt help in the long run..
Did the Lupron shot (that made me worse that what I was) and did the Danazol (also made me feel like dying..) and none of those helped at all and cost me hundreds of money and made me feel horrible...
Then they put me in pain managment and that was just something I didnt want to continue with at all..
In my endo book there is this whole thing about herbal medicines and exercises and so forth.. So, I started to take some herbal stuff and some vitimins and started to do exercises and found that helped long term pain and problems that pain meds or horomones didnt fix.
Pain meds only help short term and masking your pain, trust me though I take pain meds if it gets unbareable..
But when all medical treatment failed to help me and my constant pain, I decided to do the herbal/exercise treatment and found that I benefited so much more from it...

I've got fibromyalgia, was diagnosed when I was about 16 or so. It definitly sucks, and the lack of any real concrete information isnt exactly reassuring. I have found that lots of people with fibro (and even the doctors) tend to want to rely on rx drugs to "fix" it, instead of actually doing any actual work to improve their situation.

If you want to talk about weird issues go ahead and pm me. I have really been through the wringer as far as doctors and the medical field are concerned. I think that being young and having fibro carries more of a stigma than it would if we were in our forties or something.
