That's pretty cool!! How was he live?? It's one of my dream concerts but he doesn't gig around much... sadly.
A very underrated musician from the 60s/70s. He's quite versatile and has written some damn good pop tunes, amongst many other styles of music. I strongly recommend him, particularly his albums Open Road, Mellow Yellow, Gift From A Flower To A Garden, Barabajagal and Sunshine Superman. Sorry I can't narrow it down... everyone has its gems.
Thanks guys!!! I'm quite happy it turned out... it's always nerve-wracking sitting there wondering what it's going to look like, trying not to twitch, etc. But, I'll never regret it. I especially like the fact that most people who've seen it around here asked innocently, "Who's Donovan??" Starts up a great conversation about the underrated artist. My dad said, "But no one's going to know what it is!" And my reply: "Who cares. I did it for myself and no one else." Here's another pic taken today (2 days after the procedure):
Donovan is that wonderful person who taught the Beatles how to play fingerpicking guitar in Rishikesh sometime around 1967/1968. Without him, we would have such tracks as "Julia" on the White Album.
