Next Summer, Bootlegs, & The Six P's

OK this is simple. I'm thinking ahead to next summer and I have a Sony Mini Disc. I'm just itching to get a few shows from the NC fest from my fave bands.

So using the six P's, prior planning prevents piss poor performance I have a few questions and I'll start with the most elusive.

What are good mics to use?
everyone says use a good stereo but what makes a good stereo.

Any discs better than the others?

Where can i find one of those fancy poles to get over the crowd noise?

How do you check the record levels?

OK enough of my newbie crap. If I can get any good sets I'll gladly send them out as a sort of a thank you!!!
