Hey guys, its actually lilith here not atropine. I was wondering if you ever felt your, or any other religion for that matter (but id prefer personal experiences) preached the idea of peace but in practice actually led to war. For example, christianity is all about being at peace with yourself, being at peace with your fellow man, and peace between nations, but in this forum there are more people at (metaphorical) war in regards to it than more people attempting to make peace because of it. That wasn't a swipe at anyone, just the first example that came to mind. So yeah, by peace I mean from peace within oneself, to on a global level, and by war I mean anything from conflicts within oneself to a war of words or physical violence.
Well Jesus said that accepting him to be the messiah and to follow his teachings of love would lead to war. Thats why he said that he brought a sword and that peoples own families would abandon them. He knew this would happen but it was still the best thing to tell people the truth and the right path. I think that anyone who tells something to be absolute truth is making up war, even the idea that there are no absolutes. It is also an absolut. In the gospel of John it is said that when Jesus brought light people loved more the darkness and that made up the conflict. I think the same is going on until the end. It is something with which we have to learn to live without harming each others. What is that hits hard but do not harm: the truth about God. But we can harm ourselves with it depending on how we face it.
