    Hey Will-
Good job and good luck w/ ur further experiences in the great white north!! I am from northern Me., but not as far up as u r!! Timberwolfs, although it is said they have only been reintroduced in the last 5 yrs, have been around for a while up there, but they are endangered...also, it is said there are no other wolves in me...HAHA...6 yrs ago there was a pack on the farm I lived at in central ME, and I had a wolf/collie mix that was from a pack around Bangor area, the pack must have been around in late 80s and early 90s.
Way to go w/ ur journey!! Watch out for ur garden w/ the deer...they'll eat ANY vegetation including headies, so think about getting deer wire all the way around the garden.
Cast iron is the way to go and around that area u can check UNCLE HENRYs and get some great antiques cast iron, and lumber and other things u may need for the abode for pennies.
    Keep us posted!!
