I lived in Amsterdam all my life but left it a few months ago.
Every once in a while I would go buy some fresh Magic Mushrooms and have some deep magical and spiritual trips. The Shrooms would always teach me awesome wisdom and I would see and experience deep beauty. I just looooove them.

Now that I am in the US, I cannot just go into a store and buy them  ...

I have to be creative and find some other ways to obtain them... any suggestions? How do you get yours? Pick 'em, grow 'em yourself?

its easy to grow Psilocybe cubensis yourself, head over to www.shroomery.org and they'll have plenty of articles and links and whatnot to show you the ropes...read up a bit on your own though, its too complex to describe all in one post.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing today; grow 'em myself.
It's going to be challenging cuz I don't stay at one spot for more than 1 month, I am on the road you see.
As soon as I find a place to settle down, I will grow the friendly guys myself.
    Thanks for the link, Nesta.

no problem, and any given grow should not usually last more than 3 months at most, and usually you see your first results in about 1-1.5months. if you ever sign a lease for one year, go for it, the supplies are easy to come by, and its way more low key than growing pot, not to mention more meaningful and quicker.

you can grow some of the more potent mushrooms, too, but most of those are usually grown outside and only in certain climates. they are much slower growing, however.

I am going to try to grow the Mexican Cubensis. I find those the most friendly of all.
They take you on a trip and ask you if you are ready for it.
The Hawaiians aren't like that at all. They just take you without any warning and then they laugh at you...

Okay, can't wait untill I settle down and get on it. I really miss vibing with them.

funny, because all cubensis contain the same basic active chemicals unless some advanced techniques are used to add "unnatural" substances to the mushroom...so the effect should be pretty much the same. i've grown out a variety of different strains of mushrooms, and while they may have slightly different physical characteristics, i never ONCE noticed a difference in effect. every trip is different anyway, but there are no consistant differences between strains in my experience, and especially since most cubes look pretty much identical anything you bought in a shop could conceivably be any of a number of different strains.

I will tell you my experience with buying fresh mushrooms in Amsterdam. The Mexicans and the Hawaiians are easily to be recognized.

The mexicans have a thick stem and their cap is round. The Hawaiians have a very thin stem and their cap looks kind of like a wizard's hat (like Gandalf's)...

Again, I can only tell you my experience with buying the shrooms in Amsterdam, that is my only experience with shrooms at all, I have never looked stuff up in books or online.

And every time I would have them, I could feel a distinctive difference in vibing and and tripping and even the way they were "talking" to me.
I have always wondered how others would experience different kind of shrooms, and I have been wanting to ask this question in the forum.
