    I would suggest that you check out www.theschwag.com for info about these festivals called Schwagstocks. Schwagstocks are monthly concert events put on by a Grateful Dead tribute band called The Schwag at their privately owned 330 acre, campground called Camp Zoe..

    Your only 3 hours away from Camp Zoe so come check it out.

    btw: The Schwag play every Tuesday night at Cicero's over in St.Louis. Go check 'em out then come to Spookstock.

    All festivals are fun, which one you partake in is your decision. Some might say festivals get over produced, to much money into them, but don't listen to those people....because they are probably missing out on something great. I'd say go with the festival with the best line up of bands, its all part of personal choice, its a chance to see all your favorite bands in one weekend, and see some new stuff, which I always enjoy seeing. Festivals are just big gatherings of people which I personally could call family....everyone at festivals are nice and really welcoming...everyone just wants everyone else to have a good weekend. This year I hit up Bonnaroo...which by far was the best festival I have gone too, they had great great music that plays from 12:30 in the afternoon till 6:00 in the morning. the entire time there each night I only got about three to four hours of sleep each night. But the thing I alsoo loved about bonnaroo was all the activities that went on...definetly made the festival. I also went to, nelson ledges, and summercamp in chilicothe Illinois. Which had such a great lineup just a smaller venue, but still there was great music, people, and vibes. and like i said theres always something going on. I think of festivals as gatherings of a family that enjoys music, others companys, and mind expanding activities......
    -festivals are great I HIGHLY advise you to go to one....just a great experiances that will make memories you will have for the rest of your life youll make new friends, share new experiances and party like theres no tommorow.
    i could go on and on about festivals I JUST LOVE THEM....i've been going to em for the past three summers, and I can't wait for this summer again and i can't wait to try out a new festival...
    -have any qquestions feel free to ask i'm sure someone could answer it...

    peace and love with your journies

    people like all kinds of festies.
    I like smaller ones with a jam/jamgrass/folk focus, somone else might really want to see Trey and the rest is a bonus, others look at what they can swing for travel and tickets.
    I'd never go to Bonaroo because I don't care for big shows. To me, Red Rocks, at 9400 people is almost too big.
    Other people don't want to travel to western California for High Sierra (one of my faves).
    See the faq for a couple fesival finder type sites.

    just check out jambase. com/festivals and see what's your groove. I really liked Bonnaroo this year and Wakarusa, but the smaller fests were exceptional, they are a good place to start. if you are near St Louis, do check out schwagstock and any ohio fests if you can make them, like nelson ledges. If you want to come north, Harmony Park in Minnesota is great, but do check out wakarusa for next year (June) hopefully it will be as good as last 2 years. I would recommend that one to anyone so far, as good musically as Bonnnaroo but not as huge.

    Bonnaroo is defintly the biggest and best fest. The way i look at it the bigger the show--more music, more crazy fun loving people, more drugs

    -im not tryin to kill out anyone elses opinions, but why cant people be accepting of new music, Im always down for seeing someone new, I cant stand the same stuff all the time
    people thought about that alot, and told me MODEST MOUSE? "Bonnaroo sucks because of modest mouse" i didn't think so, even though i did not see them, someone elses intrests pulled them to go and check it all out

    -music festivals are about variety and seeing people you like and love;
    And seeing new music that you never heard of, and that you never thought you could love-
