S.F. Zoo Retires Elephants!

    Another 'jumbo' step: After the Detroit Zoo admitted that elephants are ill-suited to captivity and agreed to send them to a naturalistic sanctuary, the San Francisco Zoo is doing the same! This is a brave move, considering the SF Zoo risks losing its position in the American Zoo & Aquarium Association, which prefers to see the elephants remain in the zoo system, rather than the sanctuary setting.
