Hey! I have a question about the Cannabis Cup. Do you NEED to buy a judges pass? I've been told they're a waste of money. Any info would be dope. Thx, Ean
yeah,i heard you do. but thats about the extent of my knowledge on that subject, oh yeah its in november. there, i am done.
To be a judge and participate you need a pass, however nothing stopping you from going the same time it's on, tagging along and keeping your proverbial ear to the ground for the latest info. For me it would be pointless as I have a few of my favourite coffeeshops already as well as certain types of marijuana. On the whole, the usual coffeeshops win and if you know what type of hash or marijuana you like anyway, the cannabis cup thing is pointless. I base this though on many years of personal choice and experimentation, where I don't let anybody else dictate to me what's good or not, It's my choice and my prerogative what I like. Theres a few MPEG's on the net showing the event, btw, and it all seems way too commercial. Let me be my own judge, whatever the case. LOL
I've gone to the Cup a couple of times, and am going this year. I have also been in Amsterdam during the Cup, but did not judge. I don't think it is a waste of money- the selected coffeeshops are packed, true, but the nightime activities are fun, and you meet a lot more people than if you were there in July. $200 American gets you into the club every night, buses to-fro some of the coffeeshops, and also entrance to the seminars. If you're a toker, i'd say try it once- an ex-girlfriend and I went together once, and she said she wouldn't do it again, it wasn't her thing, but I've gone since.
The evening activities for this years Cannabis Cup are much different. Only Sunday & Thursday will the Melkweg be used. Do you know of the Oogstfeest in Haarlem in October? This is a real smokers event and you don't have to buy a pass. Sponsered by the Willie Wortals Coffeeshops, this year will be the Nolympics. A ten event smokeathon over two days with a big party and lock in on Saturday night. PM me for details if you wanna piss with the big dogs. SP
