One good thing about perth is that we have a really good music scene.
The metal community here is really close knit and pretty large for our population size.
Plus the bands kick ass :)

    Pfft Notice i didnt say NU-metal :)
What about pathogen, plauge, enforce, combined deathtoll, pyromesh, vespers descent and the furor.

And my two bands nexus and neverborn (shameless plug).
I only saw karnivool once at the strapping young lad gig and they got heckled so bad by all the real metal people :p

i grew up for several years in Port Hedland, WA. visited geraldton, carnarvon, shark bay. i remember when prince charles came and visited my school for the 150th anniversary of WA.

i liked it. playing barefoot on the mudflats. all the wide open spaces ripe for exploring. swimming in the ocean in protected areas surrounded by steel bars to keep out the baddies. poking at octopuses in the tidal flats. there was a conch shell that would close its mouth if you tapped its side.

i only visited perth when it was time to leave so i always remember it with a slight sadness: the river, a black swan, and the oven where i lost my snaggletooth action figure.

Awesome post! It made me laugh. Port Hedland is probably the worst place in Western Australia - a place I always drive past. If you reckon that's good, then you'll love the rest!

Thanks for the response. I pretty much have liked everywhere i go. You can always find something good if you go looking for it.

what takes you driving past Port Hedland? You drive a road train?

Checking out your website. Looks like fun traveling all over the country like that.

Hey if you pass thru Geraldton, find the rollerskating rink. there is a wall where people sign their names. look for the brick signed 'big apple'. yeah that's me, when i came back to visit in 99.

going to look a bit more at your site again...
