    i thought pythagoras was known .....id like to thank the anonomous greek herbalist who recognized the bitter alkoloid in papaver somniforom a long time ago .

    Duh...Pythagora Theorum is one of the most important theorums in geometry...which I never understood.

    the only thing we can lern from civilization is that its a waste of time that produces slavery poison and profound lack of fun .....i think a clean slate and a new start would mean all could have whats needed easily and have more time for fun n relaxation .

    my favourite unknown one would hae to be pythagoras' first subject. he was the first person who established that athletes should eat meat to grow muscle. he obvisouly didnt realise this was because meat is full of proteine (and we now know there are more efficient ways than meat) but it was a pretty significant descovery.

    did you know that it was pythagoras who realised that musical notes were based on mathematical principles? he was teh first to descover that octaves of notes occurred when a frequency was doubled or halved, and that harmonies occured at certain integer-fractions.
    he discovered this while sitting outside a blacksmith listening to the sound of the differnet hammers hitting the different pieces of metal
