Where in a shop (a local shop, like home depot or something) can I get a good grow light for under like 30 bucks? I need something with a cord because I don't have any fixtures in my closet (aside from whatever the regular flouro is plugged into...no cords coming out of it, and I have no idea what wattage it is so I don't know if it's good enough) Any help would be appreciated
http://www.littlegreenhouse.com/accessory/lights.shtml I'm just growing one or 2 plants, but would a light like this (the 150W) one be any good? I know the strain I'm growing (Lowryder) doesn't require as much light as most do...so would it be alright?
Home Depot, Lowes etc. have yard lights or outdoor lights, used to be called farm lights. Probably more like $50 or $60, but they come in HPS and MH. Your concerns should include taking a hard look at whatever reflector they come with as you're wanting to concentrate your light while a yard light wants to disperse it over a bigger area like a driveway. The cord could be a problem as most of these want hard wiring. If you don't know some very basic wiring you're gonna limit your options and maybe burn your folks house down to boot
HPS grows the best pot. Use at a ratio of 50 watts HPS per sq/ft. A HPS consists of a bulb, a ballast and a socket/reflector.
Well, that's good to know Ranger...cause then that means I only need 1 50 watt HPS light...cool...thanks guys
haha, well, I'm just growing 1 little Lowryder...I'd probably need 2 lights...but still, I only plan on growing in a very very small space.
You know, if you are growing just 1 plant (from seed), you may be wasting months of your time, if it's a male.
I wouldn't mind in all honesty haha I was thinking about that already (If it turned out to be a male)...it'd be fine, cause I just like growing stuff anyway haha Plus, even if I waste 6 months, then it's growing season outdoors in Florida again haha...so whatever (Actually, even like...5 months from now...god I love Florida haha)
