I"m assuming you're still in highschool... Because that's what you do when you're that age. No matter what people say, or how they project their image to others, they want to be socially accepted; they can't seem to escape from the "stars" at school, so they want to blend in, and be like everyone else to avoid ridicule. Unfortunately, most of those who try to be one of the herd get trampled and become socially inept. Don't worry about it so much, because you know what? Once you're out of that school, you won't see 80% of those people until your reunion (if you choose to go). AND, being popular doesn't really matter when you're out in the real world. It only matters to those who can't grow out of that high school mentality.
but im afraid my incapability of making new friends will follow me into college, where i wont even have the support of my friends ive known since kindergarden.
Listen to me: When I was 11 years old, I moved to a new school district. I knew nobody, and got made fun of the first day because of it. Ever since then, I was popular all throughout high school. Not in a good way. Everybody knew me, "chuckles, skittles, fuckles, tinkles, twinkles," you name it and it was my nickname. When I was 13 years old, my daily life was this: Come home from school, program on a computer for 3 hours, eat dinner, program for another 3 hours, sleep, wake up an hour early and program before school, go to school, and come home. I had 2 friends. That's about it. Until my senior year, life was hell, and it wasn't much better that year either. Now, I kick ass. Or at least, I think so. At college, I have TONS of friends. College is a TOTALLY different place. Don't even sweat it. Just go to college. Trust me. Edit: Oh, did I mention I didn't have a girlfriend until I was 17? Yeah, it was that bad. So no matter how socially inept you are, just chuck 'em the finger and cut your own path through the jungle, you'll make it.
Well said It's true, college really is a whole other world. So even if you do manage to stay in touch with those friends from elementary school, they're not really going to help you unless they're right there holding your hand every step of the way College is the time when you learn to walk by yourself, and not rely on others anymore.
i'm popular on the internet lol but trust me, it's not that great being popular.. i love being a loser definitely much more fun than being popular! but i don't know, maybe it's just me.. i hate all the attention that came with being popular..
I found the perfect way Some people like/love me and the rest normally hates me, I'm just a looser with a lot of friends
thats got to be the best post i've ever read.... if that doesnt put Colours mind at rest nothing will...
