My first computer was the legendary Commodore 64, that I still adore. If you've had one, what was your favourite game?
I had several - such as:

    Exploding Fist
    Bluemax
    Bruce Lee
    Jumpman Junior
    Pitfall II

    Ready.

...And then there also was the brilliant games at the "Soft Aid"-tape. These were among the few of my games that weren't 'cracked'. I guess it's no exaggeration to define The C64 days as the golden era for pirates. ;)

    Commando and Who Dares Wins
    Ghosts 'n' Gobblins
    Bruce Lee
These were among my faves, but I also got a kick out of The Pawn, Uridium, Bluemax, Lode Runner, Wizard Of Wor, etc. Wonderful memories...

I had hundreds of C64 games! Then I moved to C128, then Amiga 1000.

Now I have a PS2 and my favorite kind of games are still old school, 2D side scrollers like 1945 (amazing old game) or Gradius V (new game with an old school vibe). I have all the C64 games which I can play on my Mac but I gotta say I find most of them boring now, especially compared to real arcade conversions like 1945!!

I play all this (PS2 & Mac) through an X-Arcade dual stick (best joystick I ever bought!).

Spy Vs Spy and Spy Vs Spy II were good games too!

Has anyone got C64 emulation on his PC or Mac?

Oh yeah... Not to forget Impossible Mission, Ghost n' Goblins, Wizard of Wor, etc... thanks! :)

I think you can download C64-games, compile the code to MIDI-sequences, and record them at tape. Ready to load from a C64-tape-recorder (with Turbo-Tape II or ABC-turbo), in case you're having a C64 still.

One of my friends has just bought a C64 with a tape-recorder second-hand. He says that the experiment works fine!

I had a C64-emulator on my old PC, but I haven't installed one at this computer. But there are many emulators for free on the net, I think. I'm sorry - but I don't remember the name of my former emulator, and from what excact site I downloaded it (but I think they're easy to find).

    love,

I used to love my C64. I think Flimbo's Quest was probably my favourite game, followed by Funtime Freddies Circus (or whatever it was called)
