Hey, Im going to try to organize a student walkout at my school october 2nd protesting everything wrong with this country- but I'm wondering- do you need permission from anyone? are there any little things I should know about? i think the whole point of a walk out, is to just walk out, get everyone to leave at exactly the same time.
For it to work you need to get almost everyone to do it. Which will be very hard (at least it would be here) But good luck! Tell us what happens..
You seriously think its hard? When the BC gov. legislated the teachers back to work as an essential service, the students organized a walkout at our school. there was like 2 students left in each class. Seriously, getting kids to walk out of school is like getting a fat kid to eat a cup cake. They want to do it.
We had a walk out at our High School last year. What's the purpose of a walk-out if you're getting permission to do it? Hah Be sure that everyone participates. Leaders will be in deep shit whether it works out or not, though.
You have to get a large group of people from all facets of the student body. October 2nd sounds too soon. You need to make sure that every kid has atleast heard of it and most of them are going to leave. Telling a few friends isn't going to work. Make flyers, handouts and use the internet. If people use myspace at your school, then make banners and post them on their myspace.You have to be very vocal.
