does anything about hippies embarrass you?

i'm always embarrassed to be a hippie whenever an old hippy is wearing a fanny pack. that just makes us hippies look so stupid.

 

I'm not embarassed by "hippies" because frankly the way my definiton works and my personal disconnect from it makes it impossible for me to be closely enough associated to feel embarassed by their action


am I embarassed for humans? oh yes I am, often......

 

I agree that fanny packs look stupid, but when I see someone wearing one and in all other respects they look "normal" I just think they are really cool to be able to wear something like that and think only of it's functionality and not whether or not it's fashionable. I don't consider myself a hippy, I just consider myself a person. I've never really been into fitting into a "type". Now, all that aside- I would totally be embarassed FOR a person who wore a fanny pack thinking that it's a "hippy" thing.

Nah, I respect them all. Who cares if they're wearing a fanny pack? Not that I myself would ever let one grace my body, but hey, it's no big deal.

Us hippies...hmmm. Ya know ive seen so so many who call themselves hippies but yet they differ in so many ways.

So put whatever stamp on yourself as you wish. But I myself think its just another form of the counter(anti-gov)culture.

But who am I to say.

 

the only thing that comes to mind is rippin' stoned guys being interviewed on the news about legalizing marjuana, and doing a really bad job of getting their point across (because they're so damn high!). otherwise, not much bothers me.

 

we've got this great ol' guy here in town who still looks confused that he's lived past 1970. every scrap of clothing is tie-dyed, and i don't think he knows what shoes are.
