Who else loves this guy... his songs are extremely well written... i'd concider him one of the best folk singers.. right behind dylan.... his newest CD is great... and his voice doesnt sound too different from his older stuff even though hes now missing part of his neck... just sounds like his voice has aged... thats all... what are your favorite songs? i like Illegal Smile, Your Flag Decal Wont Get You Into Heaven Anymore, Sam Stone, Christmas In Prison, Some Humans Ain't Human
Prine is a fave in our house, too. "oh your yellow magnetic made in China support the troops ribbon won't get you into heaven anymore....."
my dad listens to john prine all the time so ive become a bit of a fan...i think hes really great and its cool how he went back to singing after his illness...i dont remember any of the names of the songs, and i would'nt be able to pick a favorite anyway, as theyre all good...
Ah man ... I was raised on John Prine. My dad is a John Prine nuttttt. I don't think I have any favourite song of his.. I like em all.
ah, John Prine, loved his songs for ages. I think he wrote Angel from Montgomery, such a beautiful song, and I love Paradise too. and many others. saw him at Bonnaroo this year, just as energetic and feisty as ever. and still very loved by the people, I was glad to see. his new album is great, too.
ohh man! It hits close to home seeing all the people saying "My dads a John Prine nut!" because, my Dad also introduced me to John Prine. His songs are extremely well written. I recall listening to his music when I was much younger, though, and screaming in the back of the van saying, "turn it off! turn it OFF!".. but growing older and wiser and not so hostile =P, I enjoy his stuff quite a bit!
didnt he write that song about jesus dying for nothing? that one was cool. i have afew john prine records but no record player to play them on.
didnt he write that song about jesus dying for nothing? Yes, Sam Stone and his leftover drug habit from his title album. I'm still hanging on to three turntables so I can ocassionally play my 2500 albums.
Blow up your t.v. throw away your paper Go to the country, build you a home Plant a little garden, eat a lot of peaches Try an find jesus on your own (John Prine Spanish Pipedream lyrics) hint hint trystn.....John Prine mentions Jesus a lot....do a search with Jesus and John Prine lyrics....you'll see.
Okay, okay... I've reconsidered... I know I said I don't have a favourite... Because I really do love em all... But... ahha.. lately I've been pretty partial to Mexican Home. And that's all I want to say here.
