i'm not too much for color, but i have noticed that every shot i take with my digital or my 35 slr...i'll end up turning the b/w to sepia...which do y'all prefer...i have always been b/w but the sepia is more appealing than it has ever been

For me it depends on the picture. B&W works well with some shots, like maybe urban pics. but i like sepia for a rural shot or to give an old fashion feel.

you know...i think you're right...i tend to dwell in previous decades and the sepia hits the spot...the black and white would be best for modern photos

for outdoor photographs, i really like sepia, it looks rustic, and for indoor black and white tends to treat me better.

I say shoot it all in color then make it black and white or sepia on photoshop. That way no matter what you decide, color, B&W, or Sepia, you can do all three. Can't make color from B&W, but you can make B&W from color, ya know?

Overall though, I think I usually prefer sepia for an old timey photo where nature is involved, as allready mentioned. B&W is great through to bring out contrast of the shadows.
