well, there was an attempt to request that the men's issues forum be placed on the news issues category, but a couple numbnuts sabotaged it and made it a joke.

    "Stop whining, Jedi."

*lol* And I don't type that when I don't actually do it. For some reason I found that really ironic.

Real men have to face LOTS of shit!
Like how to raise a daughter on his own.
And, how to stay married when its bad.
That's what this forum is for.
NOT insults. But the Mod is absent, and Skip wouldn't give me Mod powers here.

If you're going to get this bent about a bad joke then maybe that's a good thing.

Wait, I thought you two shared mod powers. So, no offense to Heat personally but you mean a man is not allowed to mod the mens issue forum?

Private forums can only have one Mod.

I was a supporter without a personal forum and opened this one when many expressed interest in having it.

To moderate should not be even a gender question, rather it should be more important that the moderator is fair and reasonable.

    I am.

I try to allow people to express what they feel, openly. I also try to allow people to try to work out if they do not agree in any thread...by themselves. Sitting and waiting is sometimes the best solution as long as they are not trolls or flaming.

I am at the present time the owner of the room and the mod for it. Hopefully you will enjoy your time here. :)

Ah, ok. Well like the thread started about, the fact that a 'mens issues' forum doesn't seem to warrant being in the main forums already probably keeps some men from wanting to talk, then to come in here and find that it's modded by a lady might further excacerbate it to a degree. The reason gender is relative to this forum is because it's specifically a "Mens Issues" forum. Some men have deep seated distrust of women for various reasons. We can agree that they probably need to work it out somehow but when they see a lady with the key to the gate, they'll probably turn the other way rather than come in and hash some stuff out. (Did the womens issues forum start out with a male mod?) Hopefully I'm not accused of being sexist on this. Yeah, if it was a gardening, crafting, slamdancing, whatever forum then gender really shouldn't play a role. But, it's a gender specific forum. Basic psych. Peace.

If a male chose not to post here just because I am a woman then there is nothing I could or can do about that.......it is their choice. I can only make the room available and keep the trolling and baiting to a minimal. So far that has worked out well.

Most who are posting here do so as they have a desire to share opinions and thought processes. Many issues are not only one gender specific and can be transposed and understood by both genders. Called communication.

If this board was run in a militant way then there would be a problem......I tend to be moderate and if anything is presented without hostility.....it runs it's course of discussion.

To be honest with you I think that if that was a huge issue for anyone that I was a woman moderating this forum, given the history of moderating in here that there is, they would not be open to sharing no matter where this board was located, be it here or on the main page.

The women who have contributed to this board have had valuable input.......just as the men who have contributed on the Women's Issues board have.

Your comment regarding the boards that you would consider to be non gender is sexist.....but I do understand your point. ;) I am not calling you on it being sexist, so please do not misunderstand that statement. Perhaps there in lies the key and the answer that you seek. I can understand that statement even though I do not agree with you. :)

Males and females can go in anywhere in public forums. You can't filter them.

yes. There have been several petitions to make "Men's Issues" a PUBLIC forum,
Skip was within his rights to deny the request because "at the time" There wasn't enough SERIOUS interest in helping Men with relationship, child rearing, and even Health advice. Like ours, "Heat" is the Admin here.
If you BELIVE in what we want to do here, Let Skip know. Donate if you can,
Get Active on a POSITIVE level.
This forum NEEDS activity to become public.
