The Connection between Dylan and Barrett?

I got Dylan's Blonde on Blonde album a few days ago and i was looking at the picture on the cover thinking, "Who else looks so much like him?" I later looked at some old pictures of Syd Barrett and realized: They look creepily alike! I mean, Syd had the same kinda hair as Bob and their faces were kinda similar feature-wise (at least in the pictures i was looking at) I was wondering: has anybody else ever noticed this? Or am i just crazy and making stuff up?

Syd was a big Bob Dylan fan, so he styled his hair like him. In some pictures they look similar, in others there's hardly any resemblance. I wonder if Hendrix permed his hair because of Dylan, it wouldn't surprise me. I don't think he had a perm in his paratrooper days so maybe it should be the "obligotary Dylan perm". Hmmmmmmmm.

Haha, what a great picture. I agree that they do, at least here, look quite a bit alike. I'm sure, though, as yamamamo said, that has a lot to do with Syd being influenced by Dylan and going so far as to style his hair to look like Dylan's.

Syd Barrett DID write a song about Bob Dylan, called "Bob Dylan Blues". It's on the newest (and only, I think) compilation album of Syd's, called "Wouldn't You Miss Me?".

 

I often wonder if Bob Dylan has heard it.
