Hey everyone I was just wondering what you all think the meaning of life is... Just a suggestion. I think these are gonna be fuckin' loads cuz potheads always come up with the greatest reasons for EVERYTHING...

people look for an external 'meaning of life'. but what is meaning? meaning is found no where in the whole universe except in human concepts. human concepts are found no where in teh whole universe except the human mind. meaning is a construct and every single different person percieves meaning of everythig differnetly. even if they can describe the meaning of different every day things in the same way, no two people have the same perception of 'meaning' of anything.

and so whats the meaning of life? well, humans can give meaning to everything they create because they then define the meaning. but how do you define meaning of something you dont create?

the meaning of life is what you yourself define it as.

its as simple as that.

i defined my meaning in life and it staves off depression, low self esteem, and lots of silly issues lots of people experience all the time.

My thoughts on the meaning of life...
Im assuming that your are speaking of human life, but human life is no diffrent from the life of any other "life-form" in terms of showing the charistics of being living.

I think that using the words "meaning of life" in the question deceives people into believing that anything and everything has a meaning, where as only things that a life-form creates or does has any meanging. things that where created by "the universe" (cells, life, gasses and such(all natural things) have no meaning, because they where all randomly created at diffrent points thoughout the ages.

In my opinion life was created coincidentaly, under the perfect conditions and over ages, when single cells matured into more complex orginisims and eventuily evolved into life-forms. some being more advanced than others.
i think that life is is just plain coincidental orginism eveloution.

I also believe that life could be, or has been over the ages, created in other locations in "the universe". by the same or similar orginisim eveloution.

The life of a human and a blade of grass, in terms of having the charistics of being living, both have no meaning.

there is none. we all are simply born and ther ewas no purpose but life simply occured life simply evolved. HoWeVeR, when we die we go to the giant room up in the sky
where we walk againand wait for 1000 years and talk to each other and find those we wanted ot meet in life and we meet new people and be happy. evey soul to live is up there, bugs, birds, people, monkeys, aliens and we all hang out. then after 1000 years we are recycled into the system and live a new life randomly chosen aat random times

the meaning of life cannot be explained in words. it is a feeling inside you. this is why deepthought thought that it was 42 - the question was wrong, the answer was correct.

 

What does meaning mean? why does anything mean anything? why does meaning exist?

Dude, the answer is right under your eyes ... right there. This is the meaning of life that can be understood by any faith, even Athiests ... The true meaning of life is to truley be happy, and joyous ... and to spread that happiness and that joy to other people ... so one day we can all live in harmony ... {to bad nobody really follows it.}

 

True! The meaning of life is not to have a 6-figure salary or a fancy car, it's to be truely happy.
