What does Jesus (pbuh) mean? Hi every one with all peace and love Well, I need a tiny help, What does Jesus (pbuh) mean by (the son of man)? I can find it several times in the bible, e.g. matthew9:6***Matthew: 10:23***Matthew: 11:19 and many other verses. Thank you beforehand Yours Sincerely, Cat Stevens
He was the man who found god, like a new generation of men...enlightened men. We can all be son's of man, if we'd become one with god. Such is my take, but I'm not a Christian.
I seem to remember that it is a subtle reminder that Jesus was begat by Mary....and although the Son of God, was also just a flesh and blood bod like the rest us while he was here.
Yes...everything mentioned so far plus this: Jesus constantly refers to himself as the Son of Man, when talking about who will come in the last days, etc. Also, God calls Ezekiel the prophet "son of man" in the book of Ezekiel. Depending on what Biblical translation you look at, some translate the Hebrew word as "Mortal." Others translate it as "the Son of Man." In the Greek, it could also be "the son of Humankind." That's the one I prefer...less sexist language. Cause hey, who wants to be sexist? Not me :H
TrippinBTM Do you mean by he = Jesus pbuh? if so, according to the Christians Jesus pbuh is god too, so he already knew the god, he doesn't have to search him to find him, perhaps I didn't get what you said. I don't know what is your religion or belief but I hope there is a place in your heart for God and Jesus pbuh they are really worthy to love Oz! Aha… thank you MollyBloom Thank you I am wondering Molly if you know what your signature means if you aren't Muslim? TrippinBTM Oz! MollyBloom The question is: is what you wrote is what the popes (Christian's religious scholars) say too or explain the son of man as you said? Yours Sincerely, Cat Stevens
I dunno how much help this will be......i'm certainly no student of catholic doctrine (i prefer the actual bible and scriptures, not man's own addition to them).....I do know that in the jewish tradition (old testament) "son of man" is a simplified term to be used as simply a synonym for man (pl.) As to how much this changed with it's more frequent use in the New Testament, and it's subject interpretation probably varies widely....but i think most commonly it is used as stated by the others in the thread
catstevens, what I wrote was my own opinion. I don't see Jesus as being god any more than the rest of us.
Hello pal! ^^ Haven't seen you in a while. I think, personally, that it relates to Him being...well... a son of man. Because Jesus had a flesh, if Jesus didn't have a flesh, His sacrifice would have been useless...
son of man, son of god, he meant he is no different from any of us.. hes said it mamny times yet you choose to believe he was different he said we are all sons of god.. & what the hell is pbuh? how do you even pronouce that?
Just so's ya know here's a good declaration of Christian faith PS Cat I usedta be known as Shaitan, so holla! ------- I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. AMEN. --- The point behind SON OF MAN is to underline the fact that he was wholly divine but also wholly human - making himself into a human being to walk amongst us - according to the Christian faith. If you don't believe that, you aren't Christian. It's interesting that these creeds have the word "I" in them - it's a declaration that ONE believes in it - as opposed to the Muslim ones which are basically stated as fact - "There is no God but Allah and Mohammed is his Messenger" as opposed to "I believe there is no God but Allah and Mohammed is his Messenger."
It's a thing Muslims do : Peace Be Upon Him = PBUH It's put behind everyone's name that was in high spiritual authority, like Jesus.
silly rituals..lol almost as funny as being afraid to type the o in god btw..show me where jesus himself said i am god wasnt that label put on im by men? didnt he call god his father, but also said we are all sons of god?
Yea, I know what my signature means. I love this symbol. It's the symbol found in the Bawa Muhaiyadeen Fellowship in Philadelphia. I wrote to you some of the history of the term Son of Man. Just for yor own information, Catstevens, only Catholics believe that the popes are an authority in the Church. Protestants (which includes mainline denominations of Lutherans, Presbyterians, Methodists, Baptists, United Church of Christ) do not hold the popes as authority figures. We look to the authorities of Scripture, as well as creeds, doctrines, and the democratic consensus of the members of the community of faith.
No it isn't. Enforcing you've got to mumble magic spells every time you turn around is basically a subtle form of mind control. I'm not Muslim so I can say this.... I'm not opposed to Islam per se but come on.
I think that Phish used to perform magic spells on me. I would always fall asleep at their concerts and wake up no less inspired and $40.00 poorer.:H
Oz! Thank you for the information J TrippinBTM Thank you for the clarification J ryupower Hi dear strong believer sister Yeah I traveled that's why. J White Feather Thank you for joining us. soaringeagle When I wrote: Quote: if so, according to the Christians Jesus pbuh is god too, so he already knew the god, he doesn't have to search him to find him, perhaps I didn't get what you said. I didn't say that Jesus said I am god. Isn't the trinity is the belief that there is the father, the son and the holy ghost who are three gods in one? I could be wrong. IronGoth ?! Do you mean this Shaitan Hell! What do you mean? ryupower Exactly MollyBloom Bawa?! I guess it is a name. Aha, thank you. How can I know what the democratic consensus of the members of the community of faith explained it or clarified it (the son of man)? Do they have a website; I really like to know more about Christianity and their belief. =========================================== Any way any body knows the explanation of it by a pope or a Christian scholar, or a website where I can find the explanation. Yours Sincerely, Cat Stevens
G-d is awesome! He said that so often, If I'd send you a link to where he pointed this out, you'd read for eva!
