Grateful Dead! so, just out of curiosity, what are your favorite Grateful Dead albums(or if youre really into the music, your favorite bootlegs)? mine are Anthem of the Sun, Workingman's Dead, Terrapin Station, and the concert from 7-16-1966 at the Fillmore. well i gotta BIODTL.
Well, can´t remember ever heard a single song of em. Everyone´s talking about em around here, so what´s the deal with that band? What do they play? Any kinda like famous song I could know? What´s the music like?? Love, Peace and Happiness
the grateful dead originated in san francisco around 1965. they played psychedelic stuff mostly, most of which inclded long jams. which is why they are perhaps the most famous jam band in the world. their music can be described many ways, so im not even gonna try. anyway, they have 30 years of material, which includes numerous studio albums, as well as countless bootlegs. i find the dead to be spiritually uplifting... when i listen to them, that is, when i truly listen, i am elevated to a higher plane of consciousness. i dont know if it does the same for everyone, i doubt it does... anyway... to start out on,album wise anyway, i recommend either Live Dead(1969) or American Beauty(1970). as for live things, go to www.gdlive.com . there you can peruse a collection of concerts spanning from 1965 to 1995, and it is free to downoad them. if you wanna do a little research, their website is www.dead.net . some famous songs you might know are: casey jones, truckin, touch of grey, and sugar magnolia. have fun, maybe youve found something new!
