First off let me say i am Agnostic (I belive that there is God and The Devil... however i do not belive in organized religion)... ok... im sick of all these pastors and preists forcing religion down everyones fucking throught... it makes me sick... acting like they are better then everyone else and that if you do this wrong or listen to that or watch this.. that your gonna go to hell.. fuck that... i think its all a crock of shit.. im sick of church rules also.. im sorry catholics but you got it all wrong... that you have to confess to someone who "has the power to talk to god".. he is no diffrent then you.. fuck the middle man.. if you want to pray and confess shit you dont have to do it to anyone else besides god... Dont get me wrong.. i used to go to church.. until they had this phony healer come in and miraculously heal everyone.. im sorry but i have a disablity and that just struck me as wrong.. no single touch is gonna heal someone... and the other man reason i left was because i was told that everything i was doing as a person was wrong.... im sorry but thats how i feel.. bash me if you like... i just needed to get this out

I think everyone has a right to believe in what they want, but I agree that it shouldn't be forced down other people's throats. My cousion is a born-again Christian and each time I try to speak to her she always brings up her religion, I tell her that I'm not going to change from being Wiccan to Christian and she starts saying how my soul is going to hell and how I'll be living for all eternity, in Hell. To me, not only does that seem rude, but it also seems narrow minded. Why can't people accept that not everyone is going to agree with them?

Yeah, they use religion as a psychological tool to try to manipulate your views. Scare tactics have always been popular with particular religions. Shows they don't have much faith in their own religion if they feel such a need to make everyone else believe the same using such sordid tactics.

This is what I am...I don't claim one thing or the other, all I know is that I don't know...I live my life how I deem fit the best I can. If there happens to be a god or a heaven and he don't want me just because i didnt believe in him for sure then so be it...

I can appreciate why people write off christianity as a flawed faith. What people need to understand is that the hellfire and damnation aspects that many christians preach and believe today are not consistent with true christianity, but instead are elements put in place by those who were not trying to promote spiritual integrity, but promote their own political agenda and promote this agenda as a spiritual one. When you uncover the masks of false christianity, you'll discover that it truly is a faith based on love and not threats.

Well, let me do the job that this arrogant piece of nothingness passed up. I too felt the need to bring up the fact that you misunderstood the definition of what an Agnostic is. An Agnostic is a person who questions the existance of "God" or an afterlife, etc. It's a person who is open to the possibility but doesn't put any sort of real faith into it.

A Gnostic (such as myself) is someone who believes there's more to life than meets the eye but doesn't subscribe to any sort of set dogma or religious practice.

  9. aren't you doing a lot of what you accuse others with the whole catholics have it all wrong thing?

and miracles are called miracles because they're miracles......

i do belive in miracles.. i do not belive that one person can perform them.. just by saying that did... that is a load of shit.. and makes christianity more of a cult then a religion... because people put their faith in a person rather then god.. fuck that.. ive had it done in front of me and i walked out of the church.. and i never went back

  11. cult means hidden, occult, occulation

as far as I know most of christianity is open source, fuck I can get the christian holy book just about anywhere and I can find an ass load of people totally willing to tell me anything and everything they know about it......

ya sorry i cant spell today..... im not saying that you wont find people that wont tell you about it.. yes christianity is the widest known religion out there.. all im saying is you have these pastors and preists that are false prophets and act like they know everything. And just by touching you Oh my god its a mirical your cured of whatever alment you have.. WRONG!.. put your faith in god... not some false prophet who clams he can heal people.

  13. there are christians, then there are people who use christianity as a means of furthering themselves

that is why the judgement will start in the church <joke> then quickly spread through the malls, board rooms, and tijuana </joke>

there is corruption in the church, but that is because man turned it into a man centric institution, I have yet to find a church that isn't fucked 6 ways from sunday, when I find one I'll go to it, worship etcetera, but I won't worship the beauracracy or the preacher, it will be god I am worshipping

Yeah, like David Koresh. Many of his followers said they believed in him because of his excellent knowledge of the Bible. I often wonder what it is that makes people have such faith in someone just because they have passages memorized and why they can't see through the person for what he really is.

I remember someone in an astronomy room on IRC who had memorized all the little tidbits out of the astronomy handbook. People in that room thought the guy was a god just because of that. He didn't really have a very good handle on astronomy and science either, but people thought he was incredible.

religion is bulshit indeed. Its definitely an ideology created to control and subordinate the minds of weaker people. If you think about it, if in fact religion was something that was "created by a god" if this "god" loves its people, how come religion has been a constant division for humanity which has consequently led to war and how many other attrocities ever since its existence.

religion no thanks, i'm happy with my cynical existentialist ways.

I want to get involved here but I am extremely short on time.

Crimson -- ChanginTimes already gave you a definition of agnostic but I would like to expand that definition so that you know that it also means a person who does not know if god exists or what god is like if he does exist but who is open to any evidence/possibilities. Agnosticism is a good thing it's intellectually open minded.

And then Crimson sounds like Quest techie is going to try to argue you into Christianity. Maybe. (Sorry Quest techie.) Not that you would get suckered in but listen it never hurts to have some factual intellectual tools to be able to defend yourself. So please pay careful attention to this (and maybe think about it in addition to taking my word for it). Christians (and others) teach that you have free will and are liable to judgement/punishment BECAUSE you act out of free will. This is FALSE. Human beings do NOT have free will, free will does NOT exist, and free will has NOTHING to do with liability to judgement or punishment. Nothing whatsoever. This means that any religion or Christianity or any document like the Bible that teaches that you "deserve such and such because you acted out of free will" is WRONG. Sorry I don't have time to go into all this here and now in detail. Read my book this subject is my area of expertise. Also I will be happy to explain further if anyone wants, if and when I have time.

But Crimson just don't forget you heard this "someplace sometime" because one day it may come in very handy...
