Do you realize that most animal testing does not provide the same human results. Think Thalidomide, Oraflex, Flenac, Butazolidin, Cylert etc..try looking at pcrm.org for even more drugs that don't do the same things in humans as they do in animals.
You named several drugs out of tens of thousands that are tested a year. Animal derived data has to be applied to humans, or else we would be trying dangerous new procedures on sick people by untrained phsicians. Antibiotics, vaccines, transplants and open heart surgery would be impossible if it weren't for animal research. Furtermore, while the actions of some drugs may be diffrent, the most important part of new drugs, such as toxicity, are useful by deriving animal cells. *not poisoning animals with it* Medical research could not continue at its current pace without animal research and millions of lives have been saved thanks to animal research, and millions more can be. http://www.amprogress.org/Issues/issuesmain.cfm
www.amprogress.org/Issues/issuesmain.cfm I see some pharmaceutical companies along with some labs as their staff and directors. Maybe a little biased?
