want to get my nose pierced, but wonder if it hurts alot and has anyone had problems with it after getting it done? hippiewise
I've had my nose pierced alot. My nostril four times and my septum six.. I'm assuming you mean your nostril? Nostril hardly hurts..
Yeah the nostril is easy. It's a slight poke for a second and then it's all over with and doesn't hurt very badly. Makes your eye water, but that's about it. Just make sure you follow the care directions. If you don't, like I didn't, then it will take awhile to heal. Mine didn't heal for about two years.
A friend of mine had hers done and it got all swollen and nasty and her nose rejected it. It was pretty sick looking and she has a huge scar now. I hear the nose is pretty painless, though.
It doesn't really hurt. Its hard to describe, it feels like a needles being put through your nostril, but it isn't enough pain to make you jump/scream/wail. Your eyes will water quite a bit though. I opened my eyes and they were watering so much. But once you get it done, be sure to follow your aftercare instructions, leave the original nose screw in as long as you can, keep it clean, don't fiddle with it, and you'll be fine.
Part of the function of a nose is to filter out dirt and crap before it gets down into your system. Be aware that piercing your nose makes you at a higher risk to get an infection in your bloodstream. Now that you know that, you can make your own decision. I do not think that it would hurt more then any other facial piercing. It is all the same nerve that caries pain from that area. Good luck with what ever you decide to do.
It should not hurt more then getting your ear cartelige pierced, and DO NOT EVER get any cartleige type piercing done with a gun. It can break the cartelige and create a keloid that will never go away. My sister got hers done with a gun but she was lucky enough for it heal smoothly.
i had no trouble with my nose piercing...it didn't hurt at all...it felt like a little pinch...it was over before i even noticed...and nose piercings are really cute...so you should do it...
it hurts afterwards.......becuase you will rip it tou accidnetly and that hurts alot.. putting it back in and while its healing around the stud... and al that... does hurt and swell. well maybe thats juts me.. becuase if you drink and have wild nights you cant do that if youve juts had your nose pierced... itll rip out and owwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
i've had my nose pierced and i didnt think it hurt one bit, afterwards ur nose is numb and ur eyes water but as far as pain ther was none, would have lovveed to kept it in longer than i did but work doesnt allow piiercings and when i was sleepn my nose ring would always fall out during the night...twas a pain in the arse
the only reason i felt SOME pain (not much) was because i was retarded n had my friend do it. and she had no idea what she was doing. but even with her doing it, it didnt barely hurt at all. thankfully she peirced it in the right place....
doesn't hurt as much as i thought it would-- of course i did it when i was younger and kindof silly mom plucked it out of my nose within the first two weeks. .
It hurts for a second but its worth it. I got mine done about 1.5 months ago and I plan on getting my other one done. I have a 18 guage hoop in it and I just love it. As far as the after care, they gave me dial soap and I just got a q tip and got soap all over the ring and rotated it. it healed very well in just a few weeks. Great piercing and very sexy on girls I think.
I'm pissed 'cause I just got a new job and they made me take it out...it wasn't like a HUGE piercing either, just a barely-there stud. I thought when I got it that it wouldn't be a big deal, and that everyone was probably "with" it by now! Apparently I was wrong...bastards!
Mine did not hurt, just made my eyes water a little. I've had no problems with it. Had alot more problems with my navel. Get it done, you'll be glad you did.
I had mine done twice. The first time barely hurt at all, and like others have said eyes watered a little bit and it was tender for a few days. But the first time the idiot didn't know what he was doign and put it in at a bad angle. When I went to another place for a second opinion they took one look at it and said "What the hell?!" It was so crooked! so I took it out, let it heal for a couple of months, then got it redone in pretty much the same place. This time I went to people who knew what they were doing. They were also a lot more sanitary and explained every step of what they were doing, and best of all pierced it straight. The second time hurt more than the first time, but that may be because I didn't have as much adrenaline going through my system, or maybe becuase I'd had a bit of scar tissue to push through. But it was definitely not bad at all. The worst part is the aftercare, and the really involved process you have to go through to keep it clean for about 2 months afterwards. I consider it way worth it tho, I love mine!
I've had my nose pierced for 6 years. I got it pierced by this alternative shop owner. He mostly operates off of tribal cultures, aura work and a few other alternative practices. He's more into the meaning behind it and isn't about bringing in money like a tattoo/peircing place. I was told by him that a hoop is best for healing purposes. It allows you to move the ring so that cleaning is easier and allows it to move into the piercing to clean the whole thing. If you have a choice, get a ring. Just know that if you clean it, moisten the crusties before you try moving the ring... it causes it to hurt if they are dry and can cause minor tearing. A lot of places tell you to use unscented dial soap but I never did. I actually found using Bactine and a q-tip the easiest. It numbs a small amount of discomfort you might have and you don't have to wash it off so it continues to work for a short period after you have cleaned it. Also, if you sleep on your side, try to sleep on the opposite side of your peircing (especially if you get a stud). Catching it on a peice of bedding is a rather rude awakening. I have never had an infection in it and it was pretty much completely healed in less than a month.
you should definitely pierce it if you want to. i did, and it did not hurt much. I got pierced with a ring but it got infected anyway cuz the guy who pierced it didnt go a good job. i'd say go to a place that has a good rep, so they dont muck it up somehow.once it's pierced just cleanse it thoroughly with the solution that THEY provide twice a day for 2 weeks and u should be set. i don't like any other types of piercings really. tongue piercings are nasty.
