I like this band, they are a progressive rock band fromt he early 80's. "Rosanna" is one of the best songs from 1982.

You've got to be kidding. What is wrong with you you mistake these bottom feeder mainstream rock acts that barely anyone remembers for great art?

I see art in a different way than you. What do you know about great art?

Great art doesn't entail being a chart-topper in the 80s with a soft rock hit, for one. Great art usually doesn't end up on a "Monster Ballads" comp.

I only heard "Rosanna", it was a chart topper in 1982 but still a great song. Semi-progressive new wave pop sort of thing, influenced by 70's progressive rock.

You wouldn't recognize great 80's pop if it jumped up and bit you in the balls!

I'm guessing you've never heard of The dBs, Game Theory, The Replacements, Rain Parade, or The Pixies so I can easily say the same of you.

I guess you don't appreciate the great pop hits of the early 80's such as "Gloria" by Laura Brannigan, "Come On Eileen" by Dexy's Midnight Runners "Enola Gay" by OMD or the music of the Human League. The early and mid-80's had some great pop songs influenced by new wave. This is all part of the New Wave.

That's the New Wave that was on MTV. The real stuff was on college radio stations throughout North America. Ditch the one-hit wonders and dig the classics.

I usually Karaoke "Roseanna", but I like "Hold the Line" as well....Toto is a very nice prog. rock band, along with Asia.

"Africa" isn't as good as "Rosanna". I don't listen to them anyways.

    toto IS NOT progressive rock.

they are soft/arena rock....... maybe a bit on the album rock orientated, but definitely not prog.

I have it on good authority that "toto" means "vagina" in Spanish.

This isn't a comment on the band--I just thought you'd like to know.

Toto sucks...Their only semi-good song is Africa, and still, it sucks..My friend has the album, Toto III, that has that song on it, and I says to 'em, "How the hell can this band have three albums out"? And the answer he gave me was, "Because the eighties sucked". Intelligent words, my friend..Only in the 80's, can shitty arena rock bands that should've been shot in the 70's achieve great succes. It was MTV that ruined good music as we know it, man.
