Hey all; Ok, so I finally bit the bullet and ordered. I was very sceptical of this herb, as I always figured.. if its legal, will it really do anything? After doing some reading, I've actually developed quite a bit of respect for the herb, and haven’t even received it yet... (I'm kinda nervous). Now, my question is... I purchased 1g of 6x... I've used psycadelics in the past, and years ago (when I was younger) had lots of fun with large doses (i.e. 4hits lsd, lots of shrooms, etc)... but its been a while... I would like to come in slowly.. and perhaps use it for meditational purposes, as well as to learn.. I probably won't use as sitter, as its hard to find someone I think would be into it... would 1/5 of a gram be a safe start for a first run at it? (one good hit, or two medium hits)? Which stage would 1/5 of 6x usually produce? Thanks all, and will let you know how it works out when I get there. Peace Soc
Greets, I think your estimate of 1/5 of a gram of 6x would probably be a good experience. I myself only use 1/5 to 1/4 of a gram. If your body chemistry is like mine (which it probably isn't), it'll give you around a level 4 experience. But, I'm also very thin (130 lbs). I don't recommend starting at 1/2 of a gram, that's for sure. To be on the safe side, start at 1/8th and work up as necessary. Also, BE SURE TO USE A PROPER SMOKING TECHNIQUE. If you don't, you could smoke the whole gram and barely recieve any effects.
i use 1/20th of a gram of 6x in a short pipe burned quickly with regular lighter more than that, and I do not remember what happenned.
Hehe ... but how much do you weigh? 50 lbs? (that's purely a joke, don't take offense to it!) Seriously though, I find it strange that I need 1/5th of a gram (and most people I've smoked Salvia with need more) and you need such a small amount ... perhaps you've stumbled upon an answer in your research?
Id say start with 1/10 of a gram. Some people don't need much. 1/20g of 15x will send me into a strong level 4 experience...So i take even less... Remember that sometimes it doesnt affect you the first time.
Thanks for all the great info guys. I'm looking forward to this one. From what I've read, I think I'll start small (1/10 - 1/5) of 6x sounds like a good one to try. People say you don't build a tolerance.. so I might test out a small puff at first... then go for the full 1/5th afterwards. Being that I'll try alone, I'm planning on doing the following: 1. Perhaps sit out in the forest (quiet, safe environment away from people), nice shady tree.. with some good soft music on the headphones. I'm thinking I'd be good with a level 4 (as long as I can kinda see the real world somewhere behind the screen). a Level 5 however sounds wild..(but not right now) - since I don't have a sitter, being in the in the woods themselves might be a good idea, should I drop a pipe, something, or fall.. or whatever. 2. Lots of heat on the pipe (torch lighter). and perhaps Listerine before taking a hit. 3. Many have said a few puffs of weed soften the trip, and make it more easy to take.. and more enjoyable. Anyhow, I'll post my experience after its done. Thanks again for all your input guys Peace Soc
Luckily, cats can grow a reverse tolerance to salvia when they have grown comfortable with it. Now my cat only needs 2 bowls in a pipe of 6x to start saying holy shit alot.
I too am interested in the drug. Any news on when it will become illegal? I plan on researching a little (probably mostly on this site...), and then buying some. Can't wait to hear you your experience was!
my factors: 135lbs weight 5ft7 height non-smoker with yogic lungs? short pipe (looses no condensing resins) regular lighter to save lungs. fast complete combustion quick inhallation then pull in extra air too, and holding the breath 20 - 30 secs. usage once every 3-5 days. (reverse tolerance?)
Hmm ... sounds like your body is about my size then. I"m 130 to 135 lbs at 5'8". I wonder if the reverse tolerance DOES have something to do with it ...
for what its worth (which isnt much!) my personal opinion on salvia is that it can offer some beautiful, incredible, indescribable experiences of legendary and mystical proportions....however, the experience, once you really break through, is SO intense and SO short lived that for regular use, i dont like it much. i REALLY have to be in the mood for some serious confusion and have to be ENTIRELY ready to be scared witless and torn a new asshole if it doesnt turn out to be "pleasant" this stuff, if you have a real trip on it, WILL humble you, WILL leave you awestruck and a bit unnerved, and it WILL show you things you may never have thought imaginable! personally, i think it has a lot to offer (for a certain gutsy breed of psychedelic user!!) but i think that if you can get it, something like DPT or DMT may be a bit more useful. i've not tried DMT, so i can't speak from firsthand experience, but DPT can be JUST as vivid and intense as any salvia trip, but being a tryptamine it feels more earthy, natural, and comfortable, and it lasts a good deal longer than 5-10 minutes and gives you time to get adjusted and situated in your new, completely bizare version of reality before you drift gently back into your usual version of reality. for me, a salvia trip goes something like this: 1. hit it 2. feel a wierd restless electric feeling through my body 3. after about half a minute i exhale the smoke, and quickly put down the pipe and lay down and close my eyes 4. i have a wierd body vibration that at really large doses has at times felt like my body is physically being shred to peices, or sometimes i lose all sense of having a body, in a different way entirely than with high doses of lsd, shrooms, 2C-E, or a very strong tryptamine like DPT. 5. CEVs rapidly become apparent to me if i end up really tripping, and usually begin as a kaleidoscopic ring around the darker center of my field of "vision" with eyes closed. the things making up this pattern often remind me so much of things from my physical environment that i open my eyes or forget they're closed to begin with. 6. in an intense trip, i now begin to be in a totally different universe, sometimes benign and spiritual, populated with supernatural beings such as angels and the salvia goddess and such, other times its a terrifying, nerve wracking alien reality filled with frightening, bizarre, things, persons, and otherworldly technology 7. just when i barely begin to make sense of this new world i'm in, i come back to my usual perception of reality, which feels no more or less real then where i was before, just more familiar and comfortable. re-entry from salvia space is much like re-entry from outer space - rocky, shaking, and forced.....i feel like i'm ripped out of my new space and forced back into my body, often against my will and in an equally frightening manner as when i leave it. its often full of struggle, and it feels like any minute if something was going to go wrong, it would be here. manned spacecraft returning from outer space is engulfed in flames, its a shaky and frightening ride. i bet i would be filled with many similar emotions going through such an experience as i would coming back from salvia.... this all takes place in about 10 minutes, at most. then i spend maybe another 15-30minutes feeling spaced out, kind of stoned feeling, but not at all at ease. this stuff DEMANDS respect, and will not settle for less, so dont think for a minute that you're in for a fun, easy going earthy romp through faeryland playing in the woods like you're on shrooms! i'd say if you have access to things like DPT or maybe DMT, you can achieve trips of an equal magnitude without the rough reentry and with more time to learn and explore. however, salvia is unique and while it is on the same level of intensity as these other drugs, it has an ENTIRELY different feel, and a different experience all together. its definitely worth trying, but be forewarned that MOST people dont repeat the experience very often! happy trails, hope you learn a lot and come back in the right body!
thanks....you seem to be a more experienced user, judging from your posts here, would you say my description holds true for your experience as well? there seems to be more consistancy with salvia in the different "stages" among it's fans than with most other psychedelics (paradoxically while the stages appear, in my reading and discussions with other users, to be very similar from person to person, the experience itself within the framework of these stages is always very, very, unbelievably different) i also forgot to mention to him that the "ten to fifteen minutes" rule regarding how long the trip will last is absolutely meaningless. salvia divinorum is among the few drugs that will really make you question our generalized concepts about what is real, and will completely fuck up your understanding of "time" a ten minute salvia trip involving only about 7-8 minutes of actually being "out there" in another realm of existance, can hold enough content to either slow down time so it feels like it's only been a few seconds of tripping, or much more commonly can speed up time so that you can experience a few hours, days, months, or even years worth of tripping in just a few moments! this, for me, is one of the most remarkable and at times disturbing aspects of salvia trips... when you get back to this place, you look at the clock and notice only a few minutes have passed, but you may feel like you've been gone for ages, you may even feel older. in the coming days after the experience you get readjusted to the "real" world, and pick up where you left off before the trip, and this is done out of necessity....we hold on at almost all costs to our precious concepts of time and space, reality versus fantasy, and all sorts of other nonsense....when you experience a full blown salvia or DPT experience, all of these things are torn away from your mind, and you can have very VERY real experiences (i've even had telepathic conversations with invisible entities on salvia, gone to other dimensions, worshipped a goddess i'd not known of before, all whithin the few minutes of the trip) i have to say, that mushrooms and acid are all well and good, but don't think that they will come close to preparing you for the intensity or wierdness of a salvia trip, or other short lived, intense psychedelics. from my personal explorations and readings and discussions i've pursued relating to such things, i have come to the (possibly erroneous) conclusion that these things we experience probably ARE NOT just creations of our subconscious, that these are actually tools that get us in touch with levels of REALITY that we cannot perceive throughout our normal everyday "sober" lives....that our mind/soul/whatever actually may BE experiencing a lot more time than our physical body is while remaining in our familiar world, that we may actually BE communicating with entities unknown to us.....perhaps these things effect our minds to the end of perceiving different dimensions/universes/whatever, or perhaps we have genuine mystical, supernatural experiences........ who knows? i sure don't claim to know exactly WHAT is happening to the mind when under the influence of these substances.....but i DO KNOW that i feel these experiences are REAL and often PROFOUND, and it's quite a bit different than just normal, everyday tripping on psilocybin or lsd or something......don't get me wrong, other psychedelics may have some genuine spiritual/psychotherapeutic potential, but in my experience they pale in comparison to the salvia or DPT experience.... in short, be ready to have your mind rocketed to the stars and back, and just because it lasts ten to twenty minutes by this world's standards of time measurement, dont think you're in for a short, brief experience! i'm tempted to try to explain it like alien abductions, where people believe that a space ship or something has taken them to places far beyond their normal understanding of existance, yet after a very lengthy and trying experience they may end up back in their bodys at roughly the same time and date as when they were taken, with far less time accounted for by the clock then what they've experienced. of course, reading dr. rick strassman's book may lead one to believe the two experiences may in fact be pretty much the same thing anyway, and that would account for the time problems with abduction stories....
Hey Nesta, I don't get how you say your body shreds. I feel no physical pain whatsoever. what i do feel is heat and like my body is pushed back. like the scene in transpotting where he falls back into the carpet. Almost like falling asleep but i am very awake. I also notice my heart beat quite a bit and my face numb. my most intense psychedelic experiences are when i can't trust the sensations of my body because i am more likely to believe that i wont come back and i waste the trip worry about that. i do think the whole point of smoking salvia is to fall into that altered consciousness so i dont fight it even though i sometimes fear it. oh and i find the transition back to sobriety is very subtle. In fact when i am coming down is when i talk to myself the most and have the most the deepest thoughts that i find the most useful in my life. That time is also when i realize how lucky i am to be alive
sorry bad spelling, they need to add spellcheck on posts so i dont have to edit them later cuz im too lazy to
by saying my body feels like it's being torn to shreds, i dont mean that there is any pain. its just a very very peculiar bodily sensation that at it's best feels like energy flowing from within my torso through my limbs to the extremeties, feeling sort of like i'm a tree growing at a very rapid pace, and at its worst/most alarming form it feels as if my body is seperating into different pieces, not associated with what body part it is, as if i'm going the wrong way through those one-way revolving doors made of metal bars like they may have at concerts, swimming pools, theme parks, so that people can't sneak in that way without paying....but it doesnt mean it hurts, and it is one of the most peculiar feelings i've ever experienced and i have a terrible time trying to put it into words. it may not be painful, but it is alarming. also, with the re-entry thing, i only find it hard at times. with a weak or light trip its not so bad, but still unsettling. but when i've had REALLY strong trips (such as the time i smoked a full glass slide's worth of 20x done in one hit) coming back to "reality" CAN be VERY unpleasant and disorienting for me, and sometimes even more difficult than the initial onset or the trip itself. i've just been shot out of a cannon into a completely different dimension, and have even possibly forgotten my ego. i have no sense of self, and this new existance is all i know...often when i just start to understand it and get a grip on things and start to have my own personality and existance in this new place, i am uncontrollably pulled back into my physical body. i may be so disoriented that i don't know where i am for a few minutes when i get back, and even if i'm in my own home it doesnt seem like i'm sure i'm in the right place. especially with that one over-the-top 20x experience....i was laying on my couch during the trip, which ended up being very frightening, and as i came back it happened in stages...for about three minutes i was halfway between "there" and "here." as if a window had opened up in this other world and it was a portal to my physical surroundings, and i was uncontrollable drawn to and pushed towards it, and at one point i felt as if i were half on the couch and half hanging back in the other world. i wasn't even sure it was my apartment or the "real" world, for all i knew it was some other place entirely and i was destined to forever travel through a maze of different realities. i gradually was fully reunited with my physical self, and gradually the back of the couch closed up and became a real, solid, physical item. a minute later i was again able to label it mentally as a "couch" instead of simply the funny shaped soft thing i was laying on. its odd, i felt like i had been hanging at an angle off of the couch, as if i were too close to the front of it and gravity was pulling half of me down towards the floor....but when i came to, i realized that what had been "down" was the back of the couch, and i had felt as though i were physically being pulled THROUGH the back of the couch, a tug of war between "reality" and "other" i dunno, i can't explain it well. other trips i've had, with lesser doses of weaker salvia have just simply faded away, and i may gradually realize where i was again, or i may suddenly snap back into my body in my room with little to no difference than before i tripped....but with higher doses, re-entry is just as difficult and disorienting to me as blast off....
your descriptions paralell my experiences quite a bit. I would not say exact as even my own descriptions are not exact, but certainly familiar. the shredding comes to me too, sometimes as if a skin sensation got multiplied into an intense rash, and sometimes as if all the little muscle twinges got layered into a magnificent illusory event like having my muscle fibres flayed out into noodles in all directions. that would normally (for me anyway) get mixed with the visual synaesthesia with noodles, vines, pipes a thicket or some such; and probably auditory events too - all converging into a single cypher or experiential macro. I do find intensification of layering to the manic peak, and then after a very short stay among the very familiar strangeness, a sense of being washed or cleansed from the inside.
