Hm ok, I think I'll try it sometime again. However, I don't mind the taste of tobacco myself and that the stone kicks in later doesn't seem like an advantage to me. Also the fact that there's a lot weed needed in one joint does scare me of But a pure weedjoint can be nice indeed.
Do not mix it . i regreat deeply for ever of getting hook on nicotine when even the hardest drugs on the street fail to get me hook. " no needles " but just about everything alse in the 70s,80s,90s,
I'll smoke it eitherway, I don't really care. But its jsut fucking horrible when there is too much tobbacco. And we don't call it tobaco around here, if one wants to put tobaco in his joint he'll call it either backy or pinch. Strange huh.
yeh we call it 'spin' and since you dont smoke joints or bowls like you would cigarettes, the addiction component is a little bit different.
^^^ Yeah, plus when you smoek with "pinch" the tobbacco isn't really flitered at all so ur gettign way more chemicles and you inhale teh smoke deep withing the lungs...
remember a friend of mine doing this without us knowing, didnt go over to well. if i want to smoke a cig ill smoke one, if i want a bomber lets have it without tobacco.
if i'm going to smoke a joint with tobacco in it, i just can't stand more than about 1/4 or at most 1/3 of the material inside being tobacco....what i dont understand is how so many people, it seems mostly outside the US, can stand to smoke joint made with half or more of it as tobacco, and then just a little pot or hash mixed in. it seems wasteful, because i'd think it would simply just be too difficult to hold in the smoke. when i'm smoking pot, i'll hold it in a good 5-10 seconds at least before exhaling most of the time, but if i'm smoking tobacco as soon as i inhale i have to almost immediately exhale. i can't imagine holding in unfiltered cigarette smoke as if it had THC...too much nicotine, too unpleasant for me... maybe since a lot of you folks get really good pot you aren't as concerned with holding it in a long time, because you'll get stoned either way, but if you're rolling with tobacco to "conserve" your weed its counterproductive if you can't hold it in very long. if you really wanted to conserve it you wouldnt roll joints at all....
when i smoke a combination of tobacco and cheeba i can feel the blood flowing through my veins, which is an interesting experience.
youd never really have more than half. but holding it in doesnt become a problem when you are used to it. in fact, ignorant stoners say they mix it with tobacco because it makes it less harsh than green, when this is only because theyre used to tobacco. the largest element of how bad the smoke feels is how foreign it is. your lungs dont cough if the amount and type of smoke is as youd normally have it. but then smoke totally green, your lungs dont thinnk 'oh this is less bad for me' they think 'whoah this is wierd, it MUST be bad for me' so if its normal, its really actually very smooth smoking the tobacco in the joint. in fact, moreso than a cigarette, depending on the rolling of the joint
my friend does and hes the one who gave it to me for my first time in a nice s pliff. i discovered that i enjoy them with tobacco in them only once in a while. if you do it t oo often you lose the affect rush and uppyness that the tobacco brings. otherwise it just makes the weed taste bad and brings your high down. but if you get it at the right tiime you are trippin balls.
bill, tobacco is by NO means foreign to me. i've smoked rollies many times over, i've smoked light cigarettes, filter cigarettes, ultra light cigarettes, unfiltered, clove, menthol, cigars, pipe tobacco, all sorts of things both inhaled or smoked like a cigar. i STARTED on unfiltered lucky strikes, used to smoke them all the time. i'm a tobacco smoker, though i'm trying to quit. that aside, i never have been able to hold tobacco smoke in for more than a second or two comfortably, and never known anyone who could. THC is absorbed by the lungs much more slowly than nicotine is, and requires holding it in for several seconds, even as much as 15, without exhaling it to get as much as you can out of it. if it's really rediculously good pot, i can see smoking it like a cigarette and still getting high..i've done it, i know it works. however, if you're mixing the pot and the tobacco, i just can't see how it would be anywhere close to pleasant to hold that shit in. different people like different things, but its just that in my experience, i've never understood how people can do it or like it, and i've never met anyone that does. i've smoked many joints with tobacco in them, most of them rolled by myself, and my conclusion is that unless you really want your lungs to hurt afterwards, its just not worth it. tobacco smoke seems to be first of all much hotter than pot smoke usually is. apart from that it feels thinner, less full bodied and yet more tickling and irritating to the throat and lungs. while marijuana may likely have more milligrams of "tar" in it, it simply FEELS different....not necessarily better, but different enough that i can't imagine mixing them. like milk and orange juice-they can both be great on their own, but mix them and you're in for a nasty surprise! at any rate, its cool if you like to mix them or if you dont find it more "harsh" (which is really relative, anyway, i've smoked weed thats much harsher than tobacco), but i'm just trying to better explain my stance and why i think most people -that i know- don't like it. i like them both, but they just gotta be seperate for me....
not to be pedantic, but they showed thc is absorbed pretty much all in the first 5 seconds. and actually the whole tar is higher in weed isnt correct anyway. however, the idea is that you dont smoke tobacco like you would weed, and therefor it -is- foreign for inhaling it deep and long. anyway, preference is preference, but i personally find its the other way around - tobacco smoke is full and rich, perhaps too rich in certain cases, whereas weed smoke is thinner and more flat, but sort of tangy and fresher in an obscure way. and then, mixing them together is better than plain weed, and better than a cigarette, caus the two actually compliment eachother. thats how ive always seen it. it really is habit that effects what you find feels better, otherwise all us australians and europeans wouldnt mix our weed with tobacco so often. americans are much cruder in their style and so its habit just to put the weed in a paper and smoke it, or put chunks of weed in a pipe and hit at it. of course thats not everyone, i know a lot of you have grinders and some of you use carboard roaches. but once a general habit starts in a culture, it comes to be known as the norm. at first, mixing with tobacco is harsh and even people here go 'why mix tobacco?'. but after smoking different types and really getting to know it all, people generally prefer to use tobacco. it definately conserves a lot of weed, the whole holding it in bit is personal preference, and isnt hindered by mixing tobacco. i smoked green for ages, i didnt like the initial harshness of tobacco, and had heaps of money to spend on weed, and didnt want to use tobacco caus it seemed unneccesary. now, smoking it green feels like a big waste, i feel that i -need- to hold it in extra long to make sure im NOT wasting any, when i get rather stoned from a usual 3 / 4 seconds that i used to do when smokin green. that said, theres an element of the nicotine mind-control going on there. but that never seemed to be an issue in terms of craving it more, but in terms of simply spinning it when i ddoo smoke. if ever you guys are in sydney, drop me a line and experience the whole weed thing in a totally different way to back home. its hard to express things in words. but its all differnet. the weed, the style, the mixing.
yes, you absorb MOST of the THC in the first five seconds when inhaling, but not all. holding it past about 15 seconds will do little to no extra good, but holding it in for 10-15 seconds WILL provide a bit more THC than you would have if holding it for 5 or less, and just makes good sense for someone trying to save money, because even if it means only taking a few hits less, it will still give you more bang for your buck. we're already losing THC to pyrolysis and smoke generated when no one is hitting the joint, so why should we not get the very most we can comfortably get out of what we do get to inhale? if you're using tobacco simply to bulk up the joint so it takes less pot to roll it, you could instead just roll a thinner joint. 15 seconds is very little, and 10 seconds is easily within the reach of just about anyone but a first time smoker of anything. by adding tobacco, the only thing it does to conserve weed is that less weed is burning at any given time, including between hits, but you still aren't absorbing THC any faster, you're just getting a nicotine buzz with it. and with unfiltered tobacco smoke, and holding it in, you're getting far more of a nicotine buzz than most cigarette smokers. you still aren't more stoned, though, and the nicotine feeling wears off quite a bit more quickly than the THC. you still have to smoke the same amount of pot to get just as stoned, you just get more than enough nicotine and feel like you've smoked all you would want to. at least this is the case in my experience. i dont want to smoke any more of the joint in these situations, but i still am not very stoned, and generally will immediately try to smoke more pot without tobacco in it, and end up burning more pot than i would have anyways. i dunno....perhaps i'm the only one out here that doesnt like the lightheaded feeling large amounts of nicotine all at once creates.... like i said, i can like it sometimes if the pot is broken up just right so it will blend well, and with a VERY light pinch of tobacco only, but i just can't imagine why people like it all the time or in significant amounts. whatever though, its cool, i just wouldnt personally really want to smoke a joint you rolled
plus you completely alter the addictive potential for both substances by smoking them simultaneously, and anyone here who has gone on blunt kicks for a month or more at a time may be able to attest to that, if they're being really honest. i know blunts are wasteful in many people's opinions, but there have been points when no matter how little pot i had or how good it was, if i was going to smoke it i HAD to smoke it in a blunt, and no other means was satisfying. and phillies or white owls or swishers or something have far less nicotine than you would get by rolling a joint with half tobacco. if you're already a regular unfiltered cigarette smoker and pot smoker, and you can afford to have both things at all times, then this wont really create any problems you wouldn't have anyways, but if not, its just not a good idea to do this too often, especially if you have an addictive personality.
