Hold the phone...He's coming to Philadelphia on October 17! Oh me oh my...Molly is doing a joyous dance of adoration. I can't wait.
Lucky! I love Devendra. I wish I had enough money to buy Cripple Crow. But I dont. So Ill just pirate it off of limewire... I hear hes really casual live, and actually sits on the ground and stuff. I like that, it makes the musician much easier to relate to. Because they are showing signs of humanity, rather than just being tall iron music machines.
ohhh wow! i wish i could be there! but i guess i could't be more far away. i have to get to one of his shows in england sometime. he's the best cripple crow is such a great album! 'i feel just like a child' my fav at the mo
im in love with this man...so far, everyone of his albums have been pure genious. Perhaps a little lengthy on "cripple crow", but non the less, he is extrodinary! rejoicing in the hands is the greatest album so far to come out of this decade, and has easily become one of my all time favorites. I really hope he keeps on creating good music for decades to come...
YES! Devendra rocks! His lyrics are so trippy, his melodies so haunting . . . MollyBloom, you're going to the concert at the Electric Factory? You must be near me. I'm about thirty miles north of Philly. But sadly I can't go . . . it's a schoolnight.
Yes. I will be there with bells on. I'm so sorry you can't go. I'll think of you...I'll write here how the show goes
I think I am the happiest woman alive at this moment. Just got back from Devendra Banhart playing with the Hairy Fairy Band. I waited around at the end, ...for what seemed like forever...and then..he was there. I got to talk to him, and then he HUGGED ME He also signed my album. Oh my Lord, I got to hug Devendra Banhart. I honestly thought I was going to implode right then and there from excitement. Here's the set list, in the order that I could remember, not the order it was played: Quedateluna; Heard Somebody Say; Long-Haired Child; Fall; Hey Mama Wolf; An Island; A Sight to Behold; Will is my Friend; Little Yellow Spider; This Beard is for Siobhan; Little Boys; At the Hop; The Good Red Road; and a Vetiver song that Andy Cabic just wrote ..something with Philadelphia in the title. I still can't believe it. I've never been so thrilled. wow
vetiver is pretty good, definitly worth checking them out. Alot more mellow then alot of devendra's stuff, but still good
Hey listen: for you Devendra Banhart fans, he is going to be featured on the World Cafe on XPN this Thursday October 20th. If XPN isn't broadcast in your area, check them out at www.xpn.org peace
i think i got my mom to dislike devendra, after i was telling her the whole deal about the song "little boys" "but mom, he is just singing it in the perspective of a schizophrenic hermaphrodite!" im really glad he made that song...its a good song, and a reason that he made that song was so starbuck wouldnt play his album
i like devendra, has anybody heard his new record? i heard it was a departure efrom his earlier stripped down sound. i just missed i think actualy.
