I have recently watched Last Samurai and loved it. My all time favourite movie is Brave Heart but Last Samurai is also as good as it. Which one is better? Brave Heart or Last Samurai??
personally i dig braveheart..... course i've not seen last samurai.....i cannot stand tom cruise....so i probably will never see it.....
Both are excellent! I love period movies. I just saw Cold Mountain, a Civil War epic, last nite. Good but not quite as good as Last Samuri or Brave Heart.
I have watched Brave Heart 10 times, Last Samurai only three at the moment. I think i would go for Brave Heart too..

Warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM GIVING AWAY THE ENDING OF THE FILM, if you dont want to see it please ignore. I wasnt very intent on watching the last samurai, but I thought it was well directed and very interesting plot line. The show tends to captivate you by the time the more westernized japs try to fight the traditional samurais. And you start to feel sorry for the "savage warriors". Much like you would if the story involved the US calvary and the American Indian. Theres alot of similarity there. But the bad thing about the whole movie, which pissed me off dearly, is that tom cruise was the last samurai standing!!! wtf. Every other samurai went to their death unfairly..... and he was left standing!! what a crock of shit!
Yeah, this was the stupid shit about Last Samurai that I HATED. It was typical hokey Hollywood pap, where the important character somehow is the one who doesn't get killed by all the indiscriminate gunfire and cannonfire. What a crock of shit is right. i never saw last samuri, but brave hearts my favvvvv movie ever, i must have seen it atleast 78 times lol...im totally obsessed with William Wallace and scottish history...one of my tattoos is even a scottish celtic symbol, inspired by braveheart....nothing tops that flick...or wallace
Brave Heart is close to my heart, my Scottish heritage is a big part of my love and adoration for the movie.
"Braveheart" by a landslide! "Last Samurai" lacked sense. How the hell can a westerner be the last samurai?! That's absurd!
