I just discovered him while on holiday and when I come home I got a couple of his albums and hes amazing. Has anyone else heard of him? What type of genre does he really fit into ? I wasnt to sure so I just stuck it here.
i have been listening to his music for quite awhile, and i also think that its very amazing stuff! i dont really know how to classify his music though...i guess anywhere from folk to americana to pop. ya, thats why im not to fond of the sub forums, but at least you didnt put your topic in the wrong place
He's eventually going to do an album for each of the 50 states. I'm holding out for Virginia and New Jersey next.
he is going to be so old by the time he finishes the 50 states project, but someone has to do it...got to admire that, and he has done a extrodinary job with "illinois" and "michigan" i did see him when he came to idaho, he is rather interesting live. It wasnt bad, but just different...its certainly a treat to see him if you can, but im not going to tell you its the greatest show i have seen, but good for what its worth. Im hoping he will get better as he does each state
been a big fan of him for a while, he does make great music. he has like 5 albums i believe, my favorite is 'A Sun Came' -- some of the interludes on their are funny!
I just saw him live last night. It was an amazing show and he and his band performed so well and seemed to really enjoy it aswell. I took two friends who had only heard the songs that I showed to them beforehand from him and by the end of the gig one of them said it wowed him like no other gig had before. They are now two fully fledged Sufjan fans. So is Sufjan ever comes to a place near you, it is a must see show.
no way. i was just about to post a thread about him when I saw this thread. My boyfriend got me into him not too long ago. My absolute favorite songs are For the Widows In Paradise For the Fatherless in Ypsilanti and To Be Alone With You. His type of music is so enchating to me. I love it
