ok, i want to clean out my pipes out completly(like brand new)because im moving and want them shipped over with me! but it kinda sucks cuz i already had em for like i duno say 4 months. shud i just buy that 420 cleaner stuff? how long does it take? and how exactly do i do it? and uh...just out of curiosty..how hard is it? haha THANKS!
whenever i want the bowl of my chillum totally clean i put it in hot water for a few minutes, then i just scrape all the resin out with a paperclip. for the rest of it, maybe just leave it in alcohol and salt, or whatever that is. i'm sure someone will mention it. =D
If you are talking about Formula 420, then it takes a few minutes depending on the size of the pipes. The instructions tell you pour the solution into your pipe and cover all of the holes with your hands, then it says to shake vigorously for 60 seconds. It works wonderful for my pipes; I.E. spoons and bubblers. I'm not sure how well it would work for large bongs. There are different types of the solution for glass pipes, acrylic pipes, and metal pipes.
i just dumped mine in a little hting of alcohol (took it apart first) and let it soak overnight then scrape the shit out of it.
Go to the store and get rubbing alcohol and sea salt. Pour some of each into your piece, shake, dump, and rinse. Repeat as needed. It will get all the resin out.
Fomula 420 is amazing...works for bongs too... the alcohol and salt would do about the same thing probably, but Formula 420's only like 6 bucks at my headshop so if i want something REALLY clean i just grab a bottle. it will last you quite a few cleanings, depending on your piece. otherwise, hot water and scraping always does the trick for me, but it leaves the taste/smell...
I've never had any problems with Formula 420, I've had the same bottle for months and it's only half gone. It's been used numerous times with exceptional results.
you can just boil it in water on the stove. it makes all the resin run out and makes your pipe fresh and new like.
i've boiled many peices many times over and they've NEVER EVER EVER come out like new this way. resin doesnt mix with water at all, and water doesnt get resin off the pipes. the heat from the boiling softens it, and the violent activity of boiling helps further get some of the resin off, but a good bit of it invariable seems to remain inside the pipe. getting it "like new" will require soaking it in some kind of solvent (like a strong alcohol solution) for a few hours at least. usually i let peices soak overnight.
