It seems to be getting really popular these past few years. I'm really interested in it so I should be getting some decent colours in the next couple of weeks.

Ghehe, sometimes i go out at night with a friend of mine who is doing graffiti...just to look around for people/cops......a few years ago i tried graffiti as well, but i decided i had no talent for it.

When you say graffiti, do you mean graffiti on your own paper/fence/property? Because I have very little respect for people who graffiti on other people's property without getting permission. I can only think about how I'd feel if I'd spent a good week building, say, a fence, and was proud of my work, and someone I don't even know came and marked it. I would be devastated. What are your opinions on the matter?

Blank concrete walls on stuff like city property, tunnels, bridges, etc are fine in my book. I wouldn't paint over someone's personal property, though.

Perhaps people should get together and ask a city council, only call it a mural, not graffiti, and plan it out so that it doesn't just look like illegible brandings. I mean no offense.

    agreed on that

I do consider graffiti to be such an awsome form of art...some people are so talented at it too...Ive seen murals that will blow you away...

I would love to have someone do a whole graffiti physcedelic mural on my car...like the whole thing brightly colored...that would be trippy...like with peace signs and writing...

I wish I could do that tho...

I've seen that done at grassroots festival, usually only one person gets to do it each year. They have their car (usually a bus) parked in one section of the festival and by the end of the weekend its completley covered with the garffiti of whoever might pass by...there's so many styles and coors all mixed together its great...sometimes i just sit there for a while and look at the art for hours without adding anything of my own.

i recommend graffiti.org if u wanna check out some awsum stuff

the 1st pic (sorry about the bluryness) is like an 8 by 10 inch marker "peice" i did about 5 years ago...

the 2nd is an unfinished peice, its a mechanical/organic spider and u can see an "o", the next letter is a D...with a spider pokin its head through it... the tag is "oder" ... ive stuk with this name for a few years now... or "oweder" wen i "bomb" it...it was dun with a lead pencil..whilst potted up...

i usually doodle my tag and do quik type stuff...havent gotten into producing finished "peices" really...i enjoy seeing "throw-ups", bombings, peices around the city...
