I used this in an answer to another thread, but I thought I'd put something out there. This is certainly not the first, last or best word on the subject for me, but it's just a quick summary or identification of the issue: There is a reason I have not argued back to people asking Christians to prove God's existence. I don't think that my place as a theologian is in the realm of politics, science, etc. So it's really not logical for me to try to scientifically prove God's existence, and I don't think logical for atheists to try to disprove God's existence using scientific arguments. Certainly your faith can influence your political and scientific philosophies, but trying to prove a theological point using scientific tools is fruitless, just like talking about creation or intelligent design in a class about evolution is not logical. It's like trying to mate an elephant and a tiger. We have two worlds going on here. I can't prove God's existence. My question really isn't "How do you know there is a God?" Ultimately, that really is a matter of faith. But more importantly, my question is "What difference does it make that there is a God?" In other words, "how does that influence me and how I interact with people and how I help them to help themselves?".....I just do it using the gospel.
Do i come on the pagan forums and take a stero type personality and make fun of pagans?Sure some christains are like that (GWB, Pat robertson, Jerry Fallout,) but really come on we arent all bad.
The gospel isn't just about words on a page though. It's about the love in our heart and the healing in our words. No one is going to want to hear about God when you talk about being f*cked up the ass in hell.
agree! many people have told me how inspiring they have found those words to be and are now living good christian lives
anal sex is approved by the church as to avoid pregnancy and it is a natural and papal sanctioned form of birth control
Let's bring this thread back to the point: Science, Theology, God, and Evolution. Here's what I basically stated: They all exist in the same reality and can be intelligently discussed, but perhaps not in the same terms.
The Eastern Gate Prophecy. There is a gate in Jerusalem that will stay closed until the Messiah returns. Twice, Muslims have tried to break through that gate and disprove the prophecy. others have tried. None have succeeded http://www.harpazo.net/easterngate.html http://www.lamblion.com/articles/prophecy/general/bpg-06.php
