Think about it. Easiest way to "attempt" to imagine it is trying to imagine four lines all perpendicular to each other. Now we can't see the 4th dimension but thinking about it is always interesting. Shadows in the 4th dimension are 3D and a 4D cube unravels into a teseract.
How the hell can I imagine 4 lines all perpendicular? Even if I was stoned silly I couldn't do that. Anyways, the 4th dimension is time.
well trippin, they say it is. but really, time is not a tangible dimension like the 3 that we know. so even though time IS a dimension of reference, its a shortcut to simply class it as the 4th dimension and move on. the idea behind extra dimensions is one that hits every intruiged mind. however unfortunately for us humans, even imagining a 4th dimension is impossible. our brains are only made to be able to think in 1 dimension (movements are made in single dimensions, though there are many different movements in every gross action) 2 dimensions (vision is 2 dimensions) and 3 dimensions (the environment which we interpret with senses and sight and manipulate with action is in 3 dimensions). quite simply, you cant imagine a 4th dimension probabl because you would never know what to look for! you think, one dimension, ok forward and back. 2 dimensions? up down left and right.. then you add the 3rd dimension and it then fills up the entire universe! where on earth would a 4th dimension fit in? if you could move through time in teh same way you move through teh 3 dimensions (all three of which are interchangeable without effecting the nature of physics), then time could be considered a 4th 'dimension' but you cant, so its redundant to think of it so. instead, you just have to come to grips with the fact that 4th dimension and more are only concievable as theoretical ones in mathematics, but cannot actually be concieved by the human brain. when mathematicians visualise their 4th dimensions they do so by doubling up on dimensions. just like when you draw a picture of a cube. you can sense the 3d nature of the cube.. but its still 2 dimensional. so what about 'drawing' and extra dimension onto the 3rd? well, you wouldn really be able to make a 4th dimension but it might help in trying to work out a complex asto-physical quantum relationship between spacetime and special relativity. or something.
do you know whats also fun? try to picture a color you've never seen before. everytime i try i always get purple.
so how long have you been getting enjoyment out of it? they say you can see new colours when lsd. i cant comment but my hunch is that theyre mistaken
humans only have three color receptors,, no drug can change that, there is a shimp the has 11 thuogh, what a buetifull world they must live in

wouldnt a new color, like any color of frequency, just be a shade of a different color...not a completely new color?
Once is now. Now is the shadow of the 4th dimension. You already exist in many parts of the 4th dimension, but only view one part at once.

nearly every learned theory of a forth, or fith, demention, depending on you p.o.v. that i have read has come to the same conclution, that the exisitence of this unseeable aspect of the universe relagates the other three to nonexisitence and just a mater of our limited abilty to percieve the universe. That the universe around us was born and died in an instant, that we do not move about in space and time, interacting with other bits of mater and energy that are also a part of some masive object. that we are not a part of the whole, but are the whole in its enteirty. Being a mear human i can not know the truth in this, nor do i see its relavence to the exsistance that i hold dear, I just go with what seems to work. But it is a fasinating posibilty
You Sir just blew my mind. Anyway here is a way to get an idea of a fourth dimension. Just think about how much more space is opened up when you go from 2 dimensions into three. Just picture a 2 dimesion flat square in front of you and think about how easy it is to move in and out of it because we have 3 dimensions. That is what it would be like with 4 dimensions. You could pop into any place in the world just as easily as it is in a 2 dimension example. Imagine all the extra space, its unbelivable! And scientists think if you shrink down small enough you can crawl around in a super tiny 11 demension universe, one day soon....
