It's strange listening to this guys albums, they make me feel as if im in another world, completely opens my mind.
Are you talking about My Life in the Bush of Ghosts? I've tried to like that album, but it feels really dated to me. I adore Eno's pop music, though; it's timeless.
Yes, that's the one. I haven't heard too much of his other stuff, so I really have nothing to compare to it. But I'm gonna pick up some of his albums soon.
Very nice. Another Green World is usually rated higher out of the two albums, but I prefer Here Come the Warm Jets. It's the perfect rock album. They're both excellent works, though, that I wouldn't want to live without.
There's one called "Thursday Afternoon" or something like that, which, if I remember correctly from a single listen at a friends house in 1986, was an entire album of lush random notes dropped into a warm ambient space....more sound than music, but it obviously made a big impression on me, I've not heard anything quite like that since...sheesh, why don't I just go and find/buy the album, and put an end to 2 decades without a single Thursday Afternoon? How's that for a run-on sentence? I'm gonna go out today and buy a bunch of Eno.
Eno is the epitome of this whole subforum (ambient & trance). he is a master at creating musical landscapes. I love his work he does with other bands and artists, though, too. his work with the talking heads, u2, david bowie, robert fripp, etc......
