All of my life I enjoyed being barefoot, but was always forced to wear shoes whevener I went in public. This wasn't because of my Mom, it's because of society. Well now i'm in college and have a little bit more freedom than in high school ... So yesterday I didn't wear any shoes to school and it was the most liberating feelings I think i've ever had. I just loved it when people would stare blankly at my feet in disbelief. I think this is the start of a new barefoot me!
Right now i'm going to HACC - the Lancaster campus ... but soon i'll be going to Millersville - Woo hoo! P.S. So far i've had 3 days of school without any shoes ... I love it!
I wish I had taken more advantage of the chance to do this in college. It was truly liberating the few times I did. We were just breaking into the liberation of guys wearing shorts, when I was in college, if you can believe anything like this, and believe me, that was liberating too. I think you'll find (I hope you'll find) that not everyone will stare in disbelief, unless of course your college is in the north and soon there's cold and snow---take it from me, in Maine, they notice anything that's showing!
Welcome to the barefoot lifestyle, liberation and self-reliance are an important part of growing into your true self. I'm sure you'll find shoes to aren't needed except in the most severe conditions. You're sure to answer many questions and learn alot about yourself at the same time.
=) i wear sandals around school and take them off under my desk at class, and walk around barefoot as long as it takes before i get caught-- i get the funniest stares when people see me holding my shoes in my hand and my backpack slung over the other arm. it makes me kindof happy inside.
