I HATE my job so much...

I have to work with a bunch of simple-minded cunts who boss me around and treat me like dogshit because I'm not as good at this soul-crushing, mind-numbing job as they are.
I work at Quizno's Subs, and every day I am forced to make hundreds of sandwiches for demanding, hypercritical customers in front of demanding, hypercritical bosses. AND I have to say "please" and "thank you", and call them all "sir" or "ma'am".
I hate doing this, and I hate myself for submitting to this Fascist/fake-politeness culture...I feel like, every time I do it, I am giving up another part of myself to the Man. Every time I go to work, the Man gets a little more of my soul. I am over-simplifying a bit, but this is what it feels like to me.
The only reason why I have given up so much of my time and freedom to this monster is that I have to earn enough money ($1000) to buy a plane ticket to New Zealand so I can visit my best friend at Christmas. After that, I'm OUTTA there.
But in the meantime, I must suffer, and indulge in bloody samurai daydreams.

Awww. That's sweet of you. I'm sure your best friend appreciates this torture WAY more than you could ever imagine, and would probably contribute $50 if you needed it.

i dont know many people who actually like their job.

but it says something about you that you can stick with it to reach a goal. if i had a job i absolutley hated with a passion id most likely quit.

Hah, I just applied to work at a small local movie theater, probably cleaning up trash and mopping the sticky-ass floor. I'm sure I'll love it. Yeah. hmm $$ buys weed.

yeah I hate my job too, I work long hours of dangurous dirty hard work with people I swear belong in a mental institution. I only do it becasue I want to have decent life, the job pays me almost $50G a yeat plus full dental & medical. i have a house and car, and enough money left over for some fun on the side.

Your only working at quiznos so I'm pretty sure all your getting is minimum wage. so if you dont like the people you work with, write up a few more resumes and apply for a different job....but that'd probably be too much work for you right.

Anywasy I do know where your comming from. I hated all that customer service BS when i worked at a video rental store 5-6 years back. you have to be nice to the costomers all day long. only to have three of them of them stick a gun in your face, beat the crap out of you, and rob you blind.

Wow, where are all of the "get over it!" people? Well... they don't know what they're talking about anyway. Beginning-type jobs always suck... you just have to get into it. Eventually it was sort of like meditation for me. I'd come to work, turn my mind off, work, come home, and turn it back on. It may be a crappy job, but keep your mind on the paycheck, and know that better things always come along! Hang in there!

oh man, I feel your pain! My first "official" job (I was a nanny, but it was under the table) was at Jambe Juice, god it sucked. The managers were mean, and the customers, jesus! I wanted to put a sign on the door that said "Be nice or don't come inside" but they would never let me, lol.

It'll be so worth it once you get to New Zeland though. OOOh, and quitting is such a beautiful thing!

    Oh thank you so much!
Yes, all of you need to come to New Zealand, it is a beautiful place. I would take you all with me if I had the money, but, as everyone knows, I hate my job...

I know! Why do the managers have to be so goddam bitchy? It's awful. You are not encouraged or anything like you are in school when you make a mistake, they just yell at you and treat you like you're not even human.

I would be ashamed to say to people, "When are you going to get this through your head?!", the way my mean ol' bitch of a supervisor did. They don't treat you like a person at all--just an automaton who does jobs for them.

    It's a very hostile environment.

The customers are crazy--this one woman left with a bunch of sandwiches without paying for them because we were very busy and we couldn't ring her up RIGHT AT THAT INSTANT. And some people come in there just to complain, I think.

To all of those who are considering a job in the food business (making or preparing food), DON'T! It is the worst job in the world. There are so many gross things involved in it, and customers are always ten million times more sensitive to even the SLIGHTEST of imperfections or irregularities.

Why don't you try to get work out the back, bread-making, or something? That way, you don't have to deal with customers. I really dislike it when customers think you're trying to rip them off, too, like you priced every sandwich individually. Customers are so unappreciative. I don't think I'm like that when I'M a customer.

Eh...I'm not allowed to pick what I do at work. Usually they make me do the crap stuff just 'cause I'm new, like taking out the trash and rushing to meet every customers' need...
They only come out when there are too many people for me to deal with.
