The truth simply put. Look how far religion has seperated humanity world wide. Why the nonsense of multiplying fish. Hair that is a man's source of strength. Evil giants that roamed the 'holy land'. Its obviously just another ancient philosopher's way of seeing things. There is no need for all the overcontemplation of what is true human fellowship. Either way, the bible doesnt even do that. It really outlines as well as glorifies what that dude thinks is bad and what is good. You have to be a crazy asshole if you cant even birth the concept of human fellowship without religion or a god. I've said it before, and I'll say it again.... Religion sucks. Spirituality rules! If we're in touch with our spirit, we're less likely to be hurtful to another sentient creature, because we understand that they have a spirit just like ours that could be hurt or broken. Not cool at all. We need to drop the religious ritual B.S. and get back to the point spirituality encourages... Personal Growth.
I don't think so. If anything, all you are doing is justifying your hatred and ignorance. Obviously you are not ignorant (this is not a person attack upon you), just that you probably dismiss all religious subjectivity and in so doing you become more closed minded. The world's problems have not been created by religion - they have been created by politics. At the base of all religious conflict is politics. When Upper Egypt fought Lower Egypt there was definitely religious reasons to do so but it was mainly politics, who should rule all of Egypt. In earlier times religion and politics were deeply intertwined. While they are somewhat separated in our current time, I dare say that few see the political motivations behind Humanism, which seems to be the new religion, one which will ultimately call for a one world religion, using the defence that it is the only way to resolve all differences. With a Humanist manifesto there will be little reason to have separate countries, so a one world governement will be appealled to. If you are really concerned with lies, why do you watch TV, read the newspaper, surf the Internet, go to school or participate in governement? You are voting for cheats and liars. A widow gets thrown out of her house and you can't be bothered. A governement cites Eminent Domain and you could care less. You get upset when a priest has sex with a child but don't get upset when your neighbour down the street does the same, when children are forced into prostitution, when female children are killed because a society only wants males, you buy into a society which only wants male heirs, where men can divorce their wives and have no responsibility for their children, you hire crooked lawyers to make sure the woman doesn't get what is due her, you don't think twice that they are paid less then men in the work place. You get upset when a televangelist asks old people for money but don't bat an eye when a corporation abscounds with all the worker's pension funds. You don't even get upset when politicians raid Social Security, who then manipulate you to believe that it is your duty to set up 401Ks, failling to see how corporate America is using 401Ks to raid other companies. You even believe the lies the governement says when it exports jobs, turning America into a third world country, where in a few years you'll see Martial Law in every State. You've already bought into the MTV / Sports lies, not even batting an eye when your cable bill goes up and the cable companies bribe politicians not to regulate the industry. You are not bothered with corporations using laws to not pay tax or to even provide full time jobs. You've bought into the lie that sports figures should make $50,000,000 a year while everyone else should fend for themselves. The "simple truth"? I think not. You're only interested in one type of lie, the type that no one can fight. Instead of wasting your time attacking religion, go out and attack injustice in the world - start with your local governement, then move up to the city level, then the county, then the state, then the federal level. Go out and fight against the corrupt companies, the unfair laws, the CEOs who, when hired, the first thing they do is fire people from jobs they have been working at for decades. You're probably a good citizen, who cheats on his taxes and who's response is always, "Not in my back yard". Chances are that you could care less for your neighbour, you could care less for your fellow man; it is all a matter of "I got mine, you go get yours." Show me that you are virtuous, cite the battles you have fought for the downtrodden, show me where you have made a difference in this world. Then maybe I can entertain the notion of listening to your diatribe. Until then you're nothing but one of the rest of the religious haters, who are impotent to affect change in their lives or the lives of others.
every religion teaches that they are better then everyone from other religions & seperates us from eachohersimply vased on what version of god we happen to believe or disbelieve in.., many even disalow intermingling & marriaghe betweeen faiths religions are counterproductive towards theyre own goals of enlightenment unification, equality, & peace when people are tought to look at all other faiths as inferior & evil, theres no attempt at understanding of eachothers views & beliefs, everyone elses opinions are automaticaly rejected as lies if theyy go against accepted dogma. how can we possiby have true human fellowship when we still have such an us versus them attitude? there really is only 1 universal truth.. we are all one every beief that seeks only to seperate us from that onenss is a lie..& a form of control.. the goal of religion is to make its followers believe only they are right & therefore everyone else wrong, forcing us to be enemies with people who in reality are just lik us to acheive true fellowship we must igjnore all weve been tought & seeek only to realize the simularities within all people instead of swelling on the differences.
YES, but I must qualify that answer by saying I only mean it for organized religion. Personal spirituality is a-ok. also, don't get so upset over the metaphors in the bible. The sad thing is that people take them all literally, when many are clearly metaphors or symbols meant to help us understand certain points.
okay, white feather, you can seriously lick my balls 1st you say there is no means of personal attack but go on to a long discourse of other "lies" you think i'm unaware of or perception i have no interest in them, tottally disrespecting my intelligence if you even had intelligence instead of a brainwashed paradigm derived from minds developed in ancient times you'd understand most religions passively attack eachother and only have respect for their own followers i thank you for proving my point by your close-minded expression implicating irrevalant topics aimed towards defending your "personal belief" why not devote your universal love & respect to everybody without having to resort to checking in with a pre-determined paradigm its common sense do i hate? of course, you'd rather like me to lie about the things i hate? i prefer people being up front and honest, cutting out the b/s no matter how much they despise me. at least we'd get to the root of the matter and dumbass, politics & religion are intertwined to this day who allows the media & its relations? bible thumping politicians i can sure show u that i'm virtuous, but i could be decieving you, do you really want that? i dont
