If I died in these times (in my 20's) I want Mott The Hoople's and David Bowie's 1972 song "All The Young Dudes". "Don't wanna stay alive when you're twenty-five"
Id want people to be somehwat happy during my funeral, so.... "Hummingbird"- Wilco "Staralfur"- Sigur Ros "Neighborhood #4"- Arcade Fire
one thats in the chart at the time and classed as the most annoying one - i want it to be played over and over again, I bet by the end of mu funeral people will be wishing they had swapped plaecs with me!!!!!!
I dreamed I saw Joe Hill last night, Alive as you and me. Says I "But Joe, you're ten years dead" "I never died" said he, "I never died" said he. "In Salt Lake, Joe," says I to him, him standing by my bed, "They framed you on a murder charge," Says Joe, "But I ain't dead," Says Joe, "But I ain't dead." "The Copper Bosses killed you Joe, they shot you Joe" says I. "Takes more than guns to kill a man" Says Joe "I didn't die" Says Joe "I didn't die" And standing there as big as life and smiling with his eyes. Says Joe "What they can never kill went on to organize, went on to organize" From San Diego up to Maine, in every mine and mill, where working-men defend their rights, it's there you find Joe Hill, it's there you find Joe Hill! I dreamed I saw Joe Hill last night, alive as you and me. Says I "But Joe, you're ten years dead" "I never died" said he, "I never died" said he. Paul Robeson and Pete Seeger often performed this song and are associated with it, along with renowned Irish folk singer Luke Kelly. Joan Baez's Woodstock performance of "Joe Hill" in 1969 is the most well-known recording
Has to be - 4 Non Blondes - What's up anyone remember it? 25 years of my life and still I'm trying to get up that great big hill of hope For a destination I realized quickly when I knew I should That the world was made up of this Brotherhood of man For whatever that means So I cry somethimes when I'm lying in bed To get it all out what's in my head Then I start feeling a little peculiar So I wake in the morning and I step Outside I take deep breath I get real high Then I scream from the top of my lungs What's goin' on And I say hey... And I say hey what's goin' on And I say hey... I said hey what's goin' on And I try, oh my God do I try I try all the time In this institution And I pray, oh my God do I pray I pray every single day For a revolution So I cry sometimes when I'm lying in my bed To get it all out what's in my head Then I start feeling a little peculiar So I wake in the morning and I step outside I take a deep breaththen I get real high Then I scream from the top of my lungs What's goin' on And I say hey... And I say hey what's goin' on And I say hey... I said hey what's goin' on And I say hey... And I say hey what's goin' on And I say hey... I said hey what's goin' on 25 years of my life and still I'm trying to get up that great big hill of hope For a destination

Never thought about it. There are two Dropkick Murphy's songs, "Curse of a fallen soul" and "Amazing Grace" , that would make great funeral songs. Thier Amazing Grace is a punk version with bagpipes and a few oi oi's thrown in that really rocks.
"I Am The Walrus" by the BEATLES, not some stupid cover. I love that song. Since it's MY funeral, I'd want it to be a celebration of ME, so we'd play MY favorite songs. Everyone would have to be quiet while it was playing, though. I hate it when people talk over music. RESPECT THE MUSIC, people!
