i know i've posted about this before - but i've been moving around an awful lot lately & keep losing my bookmarks. what's everyone's favorite pagan music? there seems to be a lot of good ambient and trancey electronic music out there. but i really love acoustic folk music. anyone know of some great acoustic pagan music? and what about the old "classics" like todd alan and gwydion pendderwen? are they still available?
*bump!* I like questions like this. I like a mixture of everything but I have a couple of pagan bands I like. Gaia Consort and Spiral Dance have good, catchy tunes I play at work. Emerald Rose has good celtic songs like "Pagan Girl" (I'm gonna find myself a pagan girl who understands the Goddess and rocks my world) *g* http://www.paganmusic.com/ has this large collections of pagan, wiccan, ethnic, meditation, celebratory, etc music. I've ordered from them before with good results plus good contact. Enjoy!
Urb! How've you been and how goes the bus? We make our own music. OK, to be truthful, we steal the music of others and change the lyrics. For some odd reason I can only remember the lyrics when I've a jug of mead in me. There's this one about Celtic warriors on the run from the Roman Legions (I'm sure you recognize the tune) Plaid boys... plaid boys... Whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when they come for you... And this one which shows our complete disdain for Rennies (Van Morrison) Well it's a marvelous night for a fop hunt... ...and then something about smashing things and heads on stakes... And then there's our old standard for Beltaine: We will practice like the Druids, running naked through the woo-oods, Drinking strange amber fluids, That's good enough for me... Gimme that olde tyme religion, gimme that olde tyme religion, gimme that olde tyme religion, It's good enough for me!
Zoomie I've had my ups and downs but I'm doing good right now! The bus, you ask? Well, after all the too hot weather, some arthritis acting up, plus a change of the floor plans (again), I'm starting on the reconstruction of the floor. By Sunday I hope to have all of it painted, caulked and ready for wood. This will give me some time to order the cork flooring I want. So the giant hump that was/is still the floor finally comes to a sloooow end. Other than that, how are tricks on your end?
Ah, how can I forget this guy... Andreas Vollenweider-Dancing with the Lion CD First time I heard "Unto the Burning Circle" my mind instantly draws up huge sand dunes, desert traveler's clothing flapping in the wind or secret riders racing across the sand on arabian horses of every color. Ahhhhhhh.............
Every morning I wake up and thank the Goddess that I don't build new houses, because last minute plan changes really piss me off... Things here are good, celtgrrl and I are buying the house we've been living in forever, so we'll be mortgaged to the eyeballs for our remaining time in this life. And the local HUD disburser never seems to run out of funding so there's always work to be done. So things here are good.
