    the cutter

she's always wearing long sleeve shirts
    she rarely smiles at all
she wants to feel so bad it hurts
only feels alive when raindrops fall

but i know all her secrets
and i've seen all the scars
i've touched them with my own two hands
she burns so bright like a dying star

why... i ask... would you do this thing
    and she answered so surreal
i do this simply so i can feel
so i can feel alive and real

so i promised her i'd never tell
    but she doesn't understand
when she cuts herself... it scars my soul
    it scars me secondhand

    Honestly....too cliche.
    BUT!

Last stanza finally woke me up...

"so i promised her i'd never tell
    but she doesn't understand
when she cuts herself... it scars my soul
    it scars me secondhand"

    Great ending!!
