so who else caught the whole season? as a latino myself, i guess this show had much more appeal, but overall Carlos is a funny motherfukker that knows which buttons most of society doesnt like pushed. but like Dave Chapelle and other racially non-sensitive comedians, he knows how to pick at them and make you realize theres too much sensitivity running round and humor is a medicine that aleviates plenty of that tension. "If you think you might be gay, then ur gay *clap clap*"lol. "if you can take a dick, u can take a joke" lmao! that first episode about the ped-x sign made for mexicans crossing the border really busted me up. then when they pretend to turn off the camera when they ask the transportation director or whatever what the sign signifies. and then he simply says "wetbacks" after denying it the whole time. "we have the best military in the world. we have a beaner that will stab you, a white dude that will eat you, and a black guy that does what.... DRIVE BYS!!! fuck yeah he's funny. no chapelle, but fukkin hilarious
i find this show and carlos mencia fucking hilarious. i cant get enough of it and anytime its on and im at home, i watch it. but i happen to disagree. i think he is much funnier than dave chapelle. but i think everyone is funnier than dave chapelle. i really dont like him all that much. the only thing that i liked of his was when he did that episode where he was imitating Lil John. that was pretty fuckin funny haha. but yeah, mencia, definitly 2 thumbs up.
awwww really . oh well, but just know that Dave Chapelle is the trail blazer of all these modern offenders. i guess its more funny to someone enlightened in the hip hop culture. but even if not, he grazes more widespread material as well as characters he transforms into from the black and blind klansman to tyrone the crackhead. with him its like he's not even trying, did you see that one-hour performance "Killin 'Em Softly" he did in 2000? Perfection. They replay it a bunch too. "Oscar....your'e a grouch!" "BITCH!!, I live in a fukkin' trashcan!!" "They even have a pimp on there. they call him the count. 'you've been late 4 times, i've been counting. Bitch, how many times must I slap you before you act right... 1..2...TWO SLAPS!! ah ha ha ha ha!" The only things that I disagree with concerning Carlos is his take on latinos who dont have jobs. its not easy for all of any race. might as well invite Bill O'Reilly on the show. and also his "dee de dee" joke I do not find too funny. i'm not offended, but disappointed he acually surmised a reason to why does it. personally, it IS making fun of the retarded no matter what he tells himself. of course people are dumbasses, but i dont think exploiting the menally ill for a laugh is decent. besides, it even makes him look despisingly foolish. tambien aguite el barrio con esos token jokes where he passively questions his sexuality just to get a laugh. i bet his white girl dresses him, cuz he lookes about as metro as Ryan Seacrest. on one final note, his overall composure is weird, he hops around like he just took one up the butt & he's shaking it off. honestly, as a fellow latino brother who can assimilate his paradigm w/ my own, i think he tries a little too hard. i really hope he makes some adjustments of sorts. oh, and come on, you know those people on the front row sides were placed there with precision to match up w/ the racial jokes. how magical it is when he makes fun of chinese then they're there, black, they're there, most of the time in the same center spot, come on now. both funny bad azzez either way
i dont know i think the show is ok the first couple ep. where good after that it just seemed like the same jokes over and over and over
Dave Chapelle and Carlos Mencia have a verry interesting way of making a point and they are depicting social mathers in a somewhat hilarious way.In my opinion....
Some of it's clever... It's okay... It's better than Weekends at the DL, anyway. Not that that's saying much... Sometimes Mencia can be very funny. But sometimes hearing someone say "beaner" 85 times in one show gets old. It's not about political correctness, it's about variety.
I dig Chappelle and other similar comedians for their blatant disregard for political correctness and racial stereotyping to prove a point. Plus it's just plain funny. As for Mencia, personally, I don't think he's that funny (and his voice drives me crazy) but to each their own. I hope he makes it, though, because it's better than half the crap on TV.
