I'll make one thing clear, I'm not going to dispute the scientific thoery about paralell universes, I think this is a perfectly pausable scientific thoery.

I am however, skeptic about the use of paralell universe thoery on the spiritual path.

Again, I think it is a perfectly reasonable philosophical concept, it's the way people approach it that I have a problem with.

Whenever a situation has 2 or more circumstances can occur, another paralell universe is created, so according to this, there is a universe where everyone has made the best decisions possible and we are all happy. So, we are told, it is actually possible to switch universes to the one where everything is fine and dandy.

My problem with this is that people have to live in the past - we're sorry, your flight has been cancelled, you're stuck here I'm afraid.

Is that such a bad thing?

I say no - after all, new universes are being created all the time aren't they - if you can be proactive about it you can create a universe that is just as good as any other you can imagine up for yourself. I believe firmly that, although many mistakes are not irredeemable, no mistake is one that you cannot work your way around to create, maybe something different from the original plan, but something that is just as good.

    Blessings
