I think bare feets are beautiful! AND it feels good to walk barefeet, in the summer. of course you get dirty, but you get all sweaty wearing shoes a hot summer day.
It's apparently a fetish for some people. And here I was turning on even more people then I thought when I just thought I was being lazy.
being barefoot outside is gross and dangerous.. could catch AIDS stepping on a needle, or a tiny almost invisible drop of blood, or anything.. I only walk barefoot inside my own place that I clean and bleach myself, and in nature, clean nature, that is. On very clean beaches too..
barefood is dangerous cuz if you are in an unclean area with trigonometry worms present in animal feces, they could enter your body through a cut in your foot and you could end up becoming very proficient in math
Well I love being barefoot when situations allow, and I'm not changing that anytime soon regardless of risk because life is full of risks. As a child, I grew up running barefoot all over the place in the warmer months. My mama was a flowerchild, and she was all for it. My kids love being barefoot too. My husband? He always wears some type of sandal or shoe. I can't understand that. You want to hear something crazy though, when I was at the hospital once, there was a little girl, around 2 years old, running up and down the corridors of the surgical floor with bare feet. I could not believe it, I mean, you're in a breeding ground of bacteria. There are some places where shoes should always be worn, I will say that.
In case ya missed post #17 I already have Believe me, if ya walk in wearing a long t-shirt....long enough to cover your butt and as long as ya don't bend over, then nobody says anything. I have 2 long shirts I can wear, guess they are long enough so people must assume they are baggy old dresses.
I like to go barefoot when I am on the beach or on a meadow. But I do not understand going barefoot in the city like everyone does here. Oh well, it must be fun to get in touch with the asphalt and step on used needles and dog shit.
When I used to use yahoo messenger, there is a member here that would always IM me and immediately ask where I went barefoot for the day, if I was barefoot at that moment, & tons of other questions about being barefoot. That was all that member wanted (or knew how) to talk about. Being barefoot has been such a normal & natural feeling my whole life that I can't see why anyone make such a big deal out of it. I don't wear hats all the time but nobody bugs me about that so why bug me about not wearing shoes.
Well, at least they learned to give up their shoes and be closer to nature, consistent with hippie values. Some are new to it so it's an unusual experience for them. It's better to give them some credit than to whine about it and call them names. It was the establishment back in the 60s that referred to hippies as apes, animals, dirty, stupid, etc because of the way they looked or their lifestyle. People who live in more laid back towns probably never heard of people being harassed for being barefoot. .
i've been threatened physically on here for going bareffoot-noone has the guts to do it in person-but i love the looks and the attitude that i'm doing something they dont have the guts to do-i dislike pointless authority-busybodies, mods, security guards-i know more about the law and whats healthy than them, and i look better than 99% of them too, so let them have their petty jealousies...they make it a big deal, not me
seriously, i've been barefoot a very long time. i've NEVER EVER been given more than a glance over it.
gals have an easier time of it than dudes...when anyone confronts me on it, i try to freak them out with 'why are you looking at my feet?' make them feel like a fetishist or something...
Being barefoot isn't a big deal...it's just that a bunch of snobby assholes decided that it was "acceptable" behavior to wear shoes in a public place. To hell with shoes, we were born without them for a reason
hahahaha i decided to check the bare it forum out, FIRST thread i see: http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=114384
as mod for the bare it forum, I have to say that the emphasis put on being barefooted by the (usually) men of that forum astounds even me. I don't wear shoes, but at the same time i don't see how my dirty soles are such a big deal, or why they should post pics everytime they barefoot someplace new. It's kinda creepy. Oh, and I had one of those same yahoo crazies asking about my feet :rolleyes*
