if someone was to mention on this site that a 2,500 pound drug transfer was going to take place somewhere in the middle of nowhere in the mid US and DEA agents saw it posted here and all ran out and nothing happened (someone was just pulling their chain)
It's not really a hoax, you can say anthing on these forums... whether somone believes it or not is totally their own opinion... There's a lot of people that a full of shit you know?
I would doubt that it would be a major focus of any of our law/drug enforcment agencies. A bunch of people with common interests that just happen to include drugs.. Now you can go to any number of band website forums and find people talking about drugs just as easily... and I'm sure they don't watch every band page.. There's a lot of healthy paranoia in this community of the hipforums about "THE MAN" or PIG... or feds.. or whatever... and that's good.. don't talk to people you don't trust.. I'm too stoned to be writing this.
moderators can (or at least used to be able to) moniter IP addresses....we KNOW cops come here at least from time to time. not necessarily to try to bust people, though it's entirely possible (they do that kind of thing all the time to people trying to have sex with minors they meet online, and set up drug busts are frequently practiced) but for whatever reason...making sure people aren't blatantly selling illegal drugs on here, their own curiosity into drug use, culture, terms, etc. the average cop that i've talked to doesnt know his ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to drugs. he just knows what most drugs look like and that they're illegal. its like a hunting dog that never finds out how good the animal will be once its cooked and prepared to be eaten....all the dog knows is to find it. but they're just humans and not all of them are stupid, and many probably realise their limitations and turn to a place where people can legally discuss things of this nature for information gathering purposes, as well as to gain at least a little insight into the minds of drug users (i'm sure they dont understand it well) at any rate, we've also had american local news stations run reports on the website, showing screen shots of the website and claiming that the site was responsible for selling and distributing drugs to the forum members, many of which were young teens. there were some tense moments. we KNOW that authorities of various sorts have been, and do sometimes still come to the forums. as far as i know no one as of yet has been arrested or gotten any kind of legal trouble regarding anything they've said on the forums. however its just best not to cross certain lines for safety reasons, and to not trust people making certain kinds of posts. cops will set people up on the street or in "drug dens" to get arrested for buying drugs off an undercover cop, and cops also use the internet to try to set up potential "child molestors" (some of which may or may not actually be sickos - most probably are) so its not at all overly paranoid to think cops could come online and try to sell drugs to idiots online in order to set them up to get arrested. and i think it would be entirely legal for them to do so, unfortunately, though i'm not positive. at any rate, they also dont need to know about sources for RCs or internet pharmacies, so this kind of information should not be shared freely among everybody. i've gotten many PMs for information such as this, mostly from people with only a few posts. i very rarely even respond to them, and would only give sources to usernames i recognize and trust. its not that i or anyone else is particularly worried that we're going to have cops show up at our door because we say we smoke pot or do drugs, or that we'll be arrested for posting a picture of a growroom or us with a joint. thats a real far stretch, and it would not be legal grounds for them to take action against anybody. but that doesnt mean you dont still have to be careful about somethings. i dont know what the australian government's like, but the american government and law enforcement is pretty invasive and can't really be trusted.
