I’m asking for a brief answer; can you build a building without ground floor? you cannot. how can you build a theory without explaining the origin of first living organism? Give me a logical answer.

The "logical" answer you're inevitably looking for, or so it seems, is that God created us then we evolved. However the theory of creationism, and God in general, are not logical at all. It's based purely on speculation from the minds of those who needed to rationalize and explain something they had no knowledge of.....the origin of life. It's a way to comfort the masses if you will. There's no logic there; just a fairy tale...... I'm not saying that I don't feel inclined to believe in that fairy tale, but I'm still debating, and for now, it remains a mere illusion in my eyes.

That reminds me of a true story......

I honestly used to think earth was a big ant farm, and we were just somebody's entertainment... still do sometimes.

We were started because a mouldy rock got hit with electricity.....which may sound odd, but better than a giant in the sky with a can of Play-Doh....

We are here because we are here - If there was no way for us to be here then we would not be here.

I wish all these "creationists" would go spread their particular flavor of bullshit someplace else.

chemicals + enough electricity = little living like things swimming about

which eventually makes us freaky human things, who stand upright, have big tits in the front of us (well, half the populatoin at least) and are damn light on the hair. oooh, and opposable thumbs, hurrah!

I was always very funny about the subject of evolution. The mere mention of the word made me furious. But, after reading some of Carl Sagan's books, I must admit that I have much more of an open mind regarding evolution. Good reading.

Well, first I'm going to be a dick and ask you to define 'ground floor.'
Technically, yes, you can build a building in the air or in the sea, neither of which are on the ground but can still have floors. In space you could build a building with no side defined as a floor.. after all, with no gravity they are all just walls. Hey, it could be a spherical building in space. Think outside the box. [IMG]

Secondly, I know where you're going with this and I'd like to point out to you the scientific method which has been used for thousands of years to gain knowledge.. much more than what could be said about religion. The only problem is the reality that there is much more to be learned/uncovered and it takes time--which leads us to the definition of "theory".

To cut to the chase, you say we can not have a theory of existence which does not explain the origin of existence? Theories are succeptable to change with new data. Theory - An assumption based on limited information or knowledge. Hm.. how about: "You cannot build a god without your idea of god being an earthly perception (such as a personified entity, an animal entity, etc.) The idea of a god is earthly, though a god is not. Therefore, you do not know, and you may be wrong." [IMG] I'unno, it sounded good twenty seconds ago.
(hey, why is this in random thoughs?)

Why can't we just sit back and see what science can dig up. Personally, I'd rather say "I don't know" than jump into blind faith one way or another. I'd also like to proclaim my love of rambling. Ramble ramble ramble.

That's my idea of random bs for today.
    Peace.
